Gnat,

Pappy is coming along fine. Thank you for sharing the progress.

J.Baker,

Nice tutorial. I saw Camstudio on the task bar, is that what you used to produce the tutorial? If so, how does the quality come out when you convert it to .SWF with the SWF Producer part of that program?

Selgin

Selgin, The spare RAM chips I have are not DDR 333. They are PC133 (2 x 128 MB and 1 stick at 512 MB), so they are not be compatible with your motherboard. Had they been of the type you used I would have gladly sent them your way. I've been meaning to install a version of Linex on that machine, whic...

Patmals, Sorry to hear of the hard drive crash, that always sucks! I don't use the RAID function on my machine although I probably should. I do have two SATA drives + one EIDE drive. I boot from the primary SATA drive. I assembed this computer just over 2 years ago and it was the best I could afford...

Josquin,

I just looked at the comparison myself...you should be able to import .MOV files with either version. I'm at the end of what I can do to help at this point, like I suggested, contact the people at e-frontier for help. I'm sure they will get you sorted!

Pro or Lite?

Josquin, Are you sure you purchased the Anime Studio PRO version or the lite version Anime Studio? In PRO you can import EPS, AI, etc. but in the less expensive version those will be greyed out. You can compare all the differences between the two versions here: http://www.e-frontier.com/go/animestud...

Maybe This

Josquin, I use a PC and have the Windows version of Anime Studio Pro, but I imagine the GUI is the same or similar. Here is an image that may help, I hope. You just click "File" "Import" and then choose from the selection. There shouldn't be any plugins for you to download, they ...

renaming works too, I think

Hi ingie, Go into the 'start up' folder and delete or move the start up file. I forget what the name is, but I believe that should do it. You could even put your own file in there to start up as soon as you launch AS. Take it easy I went to C, Programs, the e frontier folder and just renamed the fo...

sad case

Patmals,

Thanks for this link. I'll try to find a copy of this documentary now.

Even though some traditional animation studios are adapting to the CG era or shutting down, I do believe we are in the middle of the biggest boom of independent animation ever! I kind of like that!

one otion

Selgin, i know switch inside switch is useful, but i don't know for what. I've not tried a switch layer inside a switch layer yet, but I can think of one use for them that I want to try. The first switch layer would be for a slight head turn, the switch layer inside that would be for mouth shapes us...

Link

Patmals, Thanks for the storyboard software link, downloaded and ready to give it a try. And, yes, they will be short clips. Approximately 20 to 30 seconds each. The idea is that after the characters and their environments are developed, it will become faster to produce the bits as opposed to creati...

about storyboads

Patmal's wrote: Are you using storyboard software or is it all paper and pen(cil)?? I didn't mean to ignore your question, I just forgot to respond. I've not yet begun the storyboards but when I do it will likely be digital. I'll make the panels in an old draw program I have and save the pages as .b...
