Easing in or out?

It seems like my animation is normal speed at first, then slowing (or easing out) at the next keyframe. for example: I set a keyframe for frame 1. I then scale the layer at keyframe 70. At first the animation is running normal then frames 50 to 70 seem to slow down. Easing out? What am I missing? Go...

I thought layer shading will cast a shadow rather than shade the actual object (inside the object).

Am I wrong?

Gradients and shadows scaling

Example: I created an object....say a circle. I put a shadow on it. When I scale down the layer, the shadow doesn't scale with it. (the shadow covers almost the whole circle) I have tried this with gradients also.....same results. I think the values of the shadows and gradients are fixed and will st...

ok thanks. here's another question....it may be a dumb one, but I am still going to ask it  If I fill an object , can I make the fill a different color using a swatch rather than the color sliders? And for that matter, can I use a swatch in picking an outline color also? It seems like the color...

THANKS

Thanks for posting a picture!

That is exactly what is happening to me.

I have been getting around this by bringing down the soften edge to about 10 and then bringing my alpha down. I am getting close to the same effect.

Anyway, any suggestions?

A side note

I am using a white to black(dark grey) gradient on the cloud in addition to the smooth edge

Some weird lines on smoothed objects

Here is what is happening. Background dark blue Seperate Layer>>I am making a cloud. I color it white (alpha at 150) with no border. I use the soft edge on the cloud (setting of 20) when I render the frame, it will put a thin line either on top or on the bottom of the cloud. Other than that the clou...

How to Fade an object?

How do I keep a definite edge of a shape on one side, then have a soft edge on the other? For example A square: Left edge is crisp. Right edge I want to have a soft edge. (using a soft edge makes the whole shape fade, including the left side) This comes in handy while shading objects. Am I missing s...

I turned off the sort by depth setting. I think that was my problem. I though you needed to have that on when you changed the z axis. I am still figuring out some of the options. I am new  P.S. Love the program. Ever think about changing the site "look"? Just seems a little plain for...
