You can do it with groups, just uncheck scale compensation in all the layers inside.

Stephen: Using point scaling the line width does not change!

There's no way to import svg. The only thing you can do is to convert svg files to illustrator 8 then import in AS.

I like this style but I agree with the others, the original is unique and characterize your work. Anyway, if art is experimentation, you should consider seriously the new style, keep working on it to see its pros and cons, maybe with a brand new project.

You can't. But you can use the set origin in the layer tools (shortcut 0) and rotate the entire layer. Obviously in the layer there should be only the rectangle.
