Hello medo_123, if you want to ask about existing features, just ask in the forum, that is what the forum is here for. We're willing to try and understand bad translations into English, and we realise the English-language manual is not necessarily clear to everyone. If you want to suggest new featur...

Good points, Genete! I must admit I only looked at it briefly, and really like the way it showed that you need to cut the character into pieces, and the way it showed single image, individual pieces, and flexible pieces. However, you are correct - it would definitely be easier to animate with a sing...

Tutorial on image-based characters
Did I miss an announcement somewhere? I see there's a great new image-based character tutorial on e-frontier's Anime Studio tutorials page , which can act as an answer to several frequently asked questions about setting up image-based characters. Congratulations to whoever did the tutorial - very ni...

For turning a character, see this recent thread . For moving an arm (or something) before/behind a character, make 2 copies of the arm - one behind the character, one in front - and switch the layer visibility on and off for each layer. (There are other techniques, but this is probably the easiest o...

The Lagarith codec is a great intermediate codec because: 1) it is lossless (unlike most codecs) 2) it supports an alpha channel for compositing 3) it compresses reasonably well for a lossless codec HuffYUV is similar but gets less compression in most cases. Most other codecs, like DivX, are lossy -...

Hi Mohlar, see here for one solution (Windows only, I think). Bupaje used a trial version of an e-book maker to put the .html help into e-book form, and the e-book reader has a search function. The posted result is a little out-of-date now (Moho version 5.0 ?), but the process should still be valid....

Re: shortcuts
is there any way to print it out from here? Try dragging to select it then copying and pasting it into a word processor or text editor to print it. Note: use of a proportional font will probably result in misalignment. A monospaced font such as Courier will be more aligned (but may look uglier). If...

According to Tutorial 5.1, the closed mouth should be the lower-most position in the sub-layers, while the upper-most should be the widest open. Audio-based mouths don't have to use the phoneme-based mouths - as far as I know the mouth is chosen from the list based on volume, not type of sound. I us...

I think online documentation is definitely useful for discussion on the forum, but not as the only form of help. Most of the time I'm not online when animating, and during that time I'm also usually restricted to dial-up, so offline local documentation is even more essential. So, definitely useful b...

I agree with Mikdog - Anime Studio is a very good choice for a lot of 2D cartoon-style animation, and includes both animation and drawing tools (although there is some debate over the drawing tools - some love them, some don't), and enables both vector (line/curve-based) and cut-out image-based anim...
