http://flixel.org/ is great for those types of games, its lightweight and free (with flash develop)! Lots of great help and tutorials in the forums. The only downside is it takes "strips" for graphical information, no sprite sheets yet. But you can use an application like "glueit"...

Wont paint shape unless in view

This has been a bug since forever. If you are zoomed too close to an object it wont paint (create shape) it, or even worse paint/create part of the shape and the off screen area looks glitched even when rendered.

From what I've seen the trickorscript bones don't really compare. It looks like you have to create a seperate symbol for each body part for bones. In AS it works like 3D skinning, down to assigning vector points to specific bones for incredibly smooth and dynamic animation.

I've tried this. It would be cheaper to code animation blends in your game engine than use this and probably get better results. Its too much of a hassle to use.

Hmm there should be some option to "view resolution gate" or "fit to resolution" in the graphics program you have...that way there is no "bleed" in rendering and you don't have to scale your model. In Maya its in one of the view panel drop downs.

Hi Dude! Really great scripts! The only request I would have is some sort of keyframable thing to turn them off and on for looped animations. Is this possible in some way for this and your physics scripts? Keep up the awesome work!

I'd like a "link layer transormations/rotations" script, but they layers could be anywhere in the hierchy.

Problem with shapes

I created a shape, then within that shape connected some points and used the paint bucket to add another color. What seems to be happening is the paint bucket isn't replacing the color, but rather adding a color on top of the shape, because when I render, I see the first shape color around the edges...
