Yeah that Alice in Wonderland and Horton stuff is incredible. I think the Horton reel is by a guy named Jeff Gabor who is known for his amazing live action reference.

"You're Tearing Me Apart!"

Here's a super short test I did just for fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9tZpK0YaWY My audio and video reference is from the hilariously bad movie: "The Room" directed by the infamous Tommy Wiseau. This is a classic line for those who haven't seen the film. What I did is I imported th...

Personally I'd add some textures to that as well: What do you think about using the "Grain" setting in the "Project Settings" tab? I've recently discovered this and I find that adding just a little bit of grain helps keep the "digital-ness" down and adds a bit of textu...

I uploaded the storyboard I drew in TVPaint for anyone who's interested: The Storyboard Even though the design changed dramatically, I basically used the poses in the storyboard for my key poses. I did my best to match them in ASPro and animate in and out of those poses in an interesting way. It alw...

A TvPaint vs ASP thread would be more informative to me as it could highlight areas of improvement in both software. Well, I never thought of TVP and ASP really being in competition as TVP is geared directly towards hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation and Anime Studio is built for "cutout twee...

Dr. Ian Sane's Lab (2011 Halloween Short!)

Hey Anime Studio users! It's a week early but check out this silly little short Halloween cartoon I put together. Happy (early) Halloween! The "mad doctor" character was super fun to animate. I want to use him more... possibly in a series... what do you think? Leave me a comment and tell m...

Nice work man! I LOVE the design. You've got that and the writing down really good. And the attitude reads. Now, to polish the animation, I'd work on maybe breaking up the movement a little bit to add some looseness to the animation. For instance, when he shrugs, you've got both shoulders going up a...

What difference does it make what Disney uses?
I just think it's good news for TVP that a big American feature animation house is using them. It's great publicity and maybe TVP will start becoming more used by studios here in the US.

And according to this thread, it's being used by Disney now.
Wh-Wh-Wh-WHAAAAA??? That's amazing! Great news for TVP. Now if only a big Flash studio would pick up a few Anime Studio licenses...

TVPaint

Hey guys! So there doesn't really seem to be a thread about TVPaint so I thought I'd start one up? I've had TVPaint for a while but have just started using it to teach myself how to do some hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation. So far I am very impressed with TVP's animation tools. If you want to do ...

'Fatal Flaw'- Short Film Teaser

Hey all, I haven't really posted much here for a little while but I though you all may like to see what I'm working on now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbN2Rspykm4 It's a new short film called Fatal Flaw . It's going to be sort of an action/adventure comedy. That's all I can say about it right no...

One of the best Ren and Stimpy episodes. I believe the best scenes were animated at the great Carbunkle cartoons run by Bob Jaques who was the one who was really responsible for the way the Ren and Stimpy cartoons were animated. It's really sad how John K's style has kind of devolved now into ugline...
