Re: Cycling Problem (with video)

I did both of the solutions you provided, synthsin75. The problem was solved. Thank you!

I consider solving animation problems gratifying, if not fun, but this particular one had me stumped.

Re: Cycling Problem (with video)

Ah, thanks for explaining the jargon. I noticed that the bird's legs start acting screwy after several steps, no longer moving like they did in the original loop. Also, the farther the bird walks, the worse the legs move. Below is a link to the file for anyone who wants to take a look at the problem...

Re: Cycling Problem (with video)

No additive cycle on the camera. Only on the bird. I just extended the bird's walking time from ten seconds to twenty. The longer it walks, the worse the sliding gets. The bird should be walking on the top edge of the yellow rectangle in this screen cap taken at around 19 seconds. http://i64.tinypic...

Re: Cycling Problem (with video)

Thanks for the reply. I did hold shift while I tracked the camera.

I just copied/pasted the root bone keyframe from frame 2 onto the final frame of the cycle, thinking maybe the root bone was the problem, but that didn't help.

I noticed that the sliding problem affects one leg worse than the other.

Cycling Problem (with video)

I animated a bird walking 2 steps. I then made those steps cycle using the "additive" option. For some reason, however, the bird's feet begin sliding on the ground after the initial 2 steps. I expected the cycling animation to be exactly the same as the original steps, so I am bewildered. ...

Suggestions on workflow between Mac & Windows

My daughter and I are preparing to collaborate on a cartoon. I have the Mac version of ASP 11.2, she has the Windows 10 version of 11.2. We'll be sending files back and forth. What workflow problems might we encounter because of the different versions? I read in the ASP manual that if she wants to s...

Re: ASP 11 Tutorial 2.4: Varying Line Widths - can't do it

Try this: Draw a square. Select all the points in the square (if you omit even 1 point, it won't work). Click the Create Shape tool. Press the spacebar. Press return. Your square is now a shape filled with color (hopefully). After creating that shape, draw a circle inside a circle (like a donut). Se...

Re: Run Cycle first attemp

This is what I see: the strides don't seem long enough, and the trailing foot seems to move too slowly in the forward direction.

Still, nice work. There's a lot of good stuff going on in there.

Stroke Width - more gradations instead of decimals

I am thrilled that I can use decimals for Stroke Width, but I wish there were more gradations of Stroke Width instead. Please consider multiplying the Stroke Width number by 10 -- that way an animator could, for example, type 14 instead of 1.4. 3 reasons: There are less keys to press when you don't ...
