For those who might want to know, I figured out I can just add a whole bunch of target bones to the drop layer, and can move them around to get them to stretch the image in ways that mimics liquid close enough. Pretty neat and very easy.

My current project is only able to show ten layers at a time in the timeline. If I add an eleventh layer by checking the checkmark in the layers pane, in is displayed, but some other layer previously shown is now gone. It is behaving as if there were a ten layer maximum in the timeline. No keyframes...
