1- AS is pretty much always going to go for the animation rendering at the possible expense of nice audio playback. But a few things you can do. One is resizing the main window smaller, uses less resources to render the animation when it's smaller and you're likely to get better audio playback. Also...

I've asked for one before, but it likely still doesn't exist. I've figured a lot of it out just studying (and messing with) the files, and you might be able to hack out a little more going through the Photoshop export script. It's a good idea. There aren't too many bits I couldn't figure out, but so...

Wow, that's a really good idea. Theres no option (that I'm aware of, whipping through the scripting ref) to drop images into a dialog, but it would be easy enough to make persistent dialog windows for specialized sets of tools (or menu scripts for that matter) by name. That could be handy. There are...

Allows you to import the contents of a folder into a group layer, with each file being imported to it's proper type of layer - e.g. images or video go into image layers, Vector files would go into vector layers, etc. Which just made me realize... The standard version of AS doesn't include group laye...

Good idea, there, Myles. Only took a second, so here it is:

just unzip into you (installation folder)>Scripts>Tool folder. That should work.

A lil' help, please
Iwant to solve the communities audio problems, but I can't. Fazek noted my mixer script that I'd posted as the most complicated thing here. Probably, I have a Much Better Version that's not quite so dunderheaded. You learn software design pretty fast when you're beat upside the head. But what I need...

1) What pixel per inch resolution/screen format should you work with in your paint program so that exported graphics will have the proper size/smoothness in AS (mainly intended for NTSC rendering)? My call is sufficient resolution so that, say max magnification (as close as the camera is ever going...

Oops, I was thinking of another technique, was just trying to get the idea out before I had to run out to a shoot (I like Comedy Central, they pay on time). You lay out the problem well. I've thought, for quite a while now, about setting something up to interpret mocap files into bone motion. I just...

I've used, on occasion, some pretty huge models. AS handles it decently. The only time I've ever had the program crash, lock up or otherwise do something horrible is when I've done something really dumbass when I'm trying to work out a script. The Lua interface can be really intolerant of boneheaded...

I used named point groups a lot, but much more for the initial tweaking of the character. Scale that arm! Move the eyes higher! Like that. On occasion, I'll use a point group for pupils if I'm going to be deforming them a lot. They can be very useful in the animation part. Say the character gets sur...
