I used the right tool -- I followed each step that is described in Murdock's book. Eventually, I just started over completely. I do that a lot, really. Don't have much of a choice. In an older thread, I read this: Onion skinning basically shows the outline of the elements on your layers. Your vector...

I know, that's what I did. Yet nothing indicates there should be a gradient fill. Everything points to "Fill color: white". And I refill, select and fill, select shape and fill, do all sorts of intuitive and counter-intuitive things, whatever I can think of, still: GRADIENT. I'm one of the...

Thank you, that did the trick. Why that bit of information is not in Kelly L. Murdock's book is beyond me. I've noticed that sometimes, the book seems to focus on Martians who sit behind a computer for the first time, while other times he carelessly skips a few steps like you've heard it all before....

Thank you. I hadn't thought of that. It doesn't explain why AS behaves the way it does for me, but at least I can try this to see if it works. I ran into another problem, however: I'm trying to add a switch data file to a Switch Layer now, but the layer doesn't allow me to; it doesn't seem to recogn...

I appreciate all your help, but man -- this sure seems needlessly complicated. And it doesn't help that the app often behaves erratically: it's not me, well, not all the time. Tell me what I'm doing wrong. I have an animated sequence that lasts from frame 1 to frame 180. Ten drawings or so. The firs...

This application is slowly breaking my spirit. The ghost key issue hasn't been resolved. I'll have to deal with the fact AS itself determines where the keys need to be. Changing the image source: AS determines when it works and when it doesn't. Then, rescaling keyframes. I have a series of images, o...

Thanks for the script, I'll look into it. The import image sequence script only likes a certain method of numbering. You might search the forum for more detailed instructions on its use. I ran into this myself. If you reassign the edited image, save the AS file and reopen it, you should see your cha...

And now I can't choose Sorenson Video 3 from the compressor drop-down list anymore. It ends at the letter "P": PNG. I used to pick Sorenson, then as a test tried DV - PAL, but apparently that caused something that broke the thing. What is this?

I've tried the Import Sequence script, but received an error. I'm exporting something now so I can't give you the actual text of the error, but in any case it failed. I don't have Photoshop CS either, though. I use Elements. By "updating" I meant: changing the original image. For example, ...

Some Questions

I work in a traditional way, which means: pencil and paper. I scan my drawings, color them in Photoshop, then use those images for my animation work in Anime Studio Pro. And I'm on a Mac. A couple of things... a) Is it possible to import a batch of images? I have to do them one by one now. b) When I...

A (probably) simple question regarding fading text

What I'm about to ask is, I suspect, baffingly simple, yet my peanut-sized brain can't work it out it seems. It just freezes all the time. (I'm a traditional animator by the way, just entering the world of animation software, and no tech guy at all.) One layer I have is an image layer. It has an imp...

Can you not call either eFrontier or Smith Micro? I'd definitely invest in a phone call -- this is a situation I wouldn't wait to be resolved electronically. Yeah, but I'd have to do it in English (I'm Dutch) which always is a hurdle for me. And there's no need anymore: I got a reply back from eF t...

I've just tried it on a PC -- and same thing, it rejects the number. So it's not my computer.

Nothing.

This is really frustrating. What gives?

I think I have the right number: "Serial Number" it says on the disc's package. Starts with "ZS".

I tried it without hyphens as well.
