Yes I saw the one about the drawing tools (which I don't agree with) and there was a much older thread about the specific characters offered in raster format too, but neither quite directly came to the answers given here. Thanks guys. I will definitely be all about vector! Between Anime Studio Pro ...

Re: VECTOR VS. IMAGE

I notice the characters that come with Anime Studio are made up of image layers. They are not vector lines but a group of png files. Is this preferable? Rendering them in HD makes for some jagged edges. Doesn't this also take up more memory and make it impossible to export as Flash? There was a big...

Yeah, it's supposed to be included, but apparently it's not? Thanks for the link.

Very nicely done walk cycle, BTW (now that I can see it!)

Strange, there is no reason why that shouldn't be playing for me... I have QTPro 7.

Re: New To The Game

I just got Anime Studio Pro about four hours ago and just finished going through all the tutorials. I must say I am very very impressed. Definitely not what I expected and I hope to really explore what I can do with this software in the next few days. I think its going to be a lot of fun. T Hi, wel...

Good job! One thing that can help get the correct proportions when turning the head is to draw (sketch out on paper) the head turn from the top. Make it fairly large, then underneath, you can map the places where the cheeks, nose, etc are on the main head turn, like this: http://www.donbluth.com/gif...

The default security built into phpBB is pretty weak, even with the verification code that has to be done.

There are a bunch of mods available for phpBB to help combat the spam:

It seems to be even worse on the Animation World Network forums.

Re: Les Profs

Well, It's the start of a new month and we have a new film to show. It's a pilot for a French TV series about a group of teachers and the crap that they all have to put up with and go through! And guess what.... It was all done in Anime Studio, even the backgrounds! It was comped and rendered in Co...

Pretty neat! You should put a little more head movement (like a slight dip down or up) when he turns his face (or is it her?), otherwise the features slide across the face.. unless that is the effect you were going for.

I uploaded a slightly modified version with half rotation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkq___EJQ8s greykid - I will be trying with dialogues and facial acting in next phase I think that won't be a tedious task, if it is well planned. This one i have created just for fun without much planning. For...

I like the second... the characters stand out more.. the characters in the first one look too much alike in color and there isn't enough contrast.

Re: vectors versus png?

vectors versus png ive been creating images in xara lately and importing into a.s instead of creating vector shapes within a.s. and i must say that if you export a png from xara at a high enough resolution then the quality (to the eye) is pretty much the same i feel its much quicker and the images ...

Re: Griddleville

This was my first (and last) traditional animation project. The one that almost killed me. It took way too long to make, and the craziest part is, once it was done I was so tired of the thing I couldn't bring myself to put much effort into distributing it. So now some time has gone by, and I have a...

I started my animation career as an indetweener at Walt Disney Animation Canada just prior to graduating from Vancouver Film School. In my three and a half years there I was lucky enough to move fr...
