Re: Mac Workflow
Drive speed gains don't come from the interface as much as the drives. USB is NOT the interface of choice for editing. A small external RAID through firewire 800 will go as fast as through USB3, and be more stable (because of how the interface is handled and shared). It's more about how fast the dri...

http://youtu.be/ss2hULhXf04 http://youtu.be/XrbumvF-Oe4 Peanuts animation 'adults'. You could use instrumental loops, or a keyboard if you have one. Shouldn't be that hard to press and release keys for the sounds. Snoopy sounds. I think they were recorded at slow speed and then sped up. http://youtu...

Re: How to make a unintelligible speech?
google "gibberish" there are a few 'generators' out there. Though they do tend to be language linked. There was a comedian (or two) who would speak in nonsense language, but I can't recall names. It will come to me...

Re: Does Anyone Use Flipbook?
look at Toon Boom Animate {pro}. I found flipbook a little lacking in some things that matter professionally. Such as: number of frames allowed in a project. Resolution. Both are functional, but right at the edge of functional. Flipbook is nice enough for what it is, but I think Toon Boom is a more ...

Re: I need a suggestion on pricing
Animated still? It looks like just a still frame to me. Whatever.
What's the final use? That will have an effect on what you should charge. Just off the top of my head, I'd probably charge about $600 US for that, and negotiate use rights. And, my client would probably balk at that.

Re: Driving fun
I live in California. It's legal to split lanes here. I don't know why. I've seen a few people get squashed on bikes. Usually because they're going 45 while traffic is 15, and someone NEEDS to change lanes and whacks into the poor (unexpected) guy on a bike. A couple of times, I've seen someone move...

Re: print quality images from anime studio
I didn't understand Slowtiger's spot color channel explanation. I rendered out a file (.tga-because .psd came in with layers intact, and I didn't want to fuss with that). Opened the file in photoshop, and printed it on a four color inkjet in "normal" quality on plain paper. Looked through ...

Re: print quality images from anime studio
Render out in RGB in stereo. It is no problem. Keep everything RGB as long as possible. Depending on what you're printing to, you might not ever want to convert to CMYK. (6 color (and more) printers prefer to print from RGB colorspace). If you're going to a printing press, you'll need to mess with G...

Re: Microphone recommendations?
What are you using for a recorder? Does it have phantom power available? I agree with the Zoom recommendation. And, I don't think the diversity of use you describe really works with a single mic. Outside you should use a shotgun. For voice under what circumstances? Maybe a shotgun, but maybe better ...

Re: UP AND COMING ANIMATOR / FILM MAKER WANTED TO CREATE MUS
Interesting that you mention a "last video" on YouTube, but there's no link to that. No band name either. How does the PR company work for the financial part? Exposure, and limited money for them too? I looked at the linked video again, I guess there's some animation in there. Some roto wo...

Re: UP AND COMING ANIMATOR / FILM MAKER WANTED TO CREATE MUS
Not much animation (if any). Live action that's been run through After Effects, most likely. high contrast, colorized, some compositing. Queens of the Stone Age: Go With the Flow is the video (if you wanted to try to seek it out more). Given the original footage, it was probably done in a week. thei...

Courtesy of Gregg, the roto guy on my current job (and, seriously, all this was in his head, which is a little scary).
