Re: 3D object animation questions
Hi Slow tiger, that object you see is the imported 3D object I created in another app and imported to ASP, so it's just about setting up the camera correctly and shooting it as the spiral shape rotates. That's all it has to do actually, but I'm not sure if there is a better way to navigate the scene...

3D object animation questions
Hi all. I'm working on a job that I hope I can mostly do with Anime Studio. One element of it would be an object that looks something like this. http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc401/djwaterman/Test_zps509aa8aa.jpg It would have to rotate as well. My questions aren't specific, I never really got...

Re: Best Compressing and Exporting Codecs?
Did you get this sorted? My own advice is that I would probably never export animation out of AS the same as I would never export an animation out of Maya, Blender, Lightwave and so on. It's not really done in production that way. You are better off exporting a PNG sequence or any kind of picture se...

Re: Interfilm 2013 Festival Trailer
It's very good, you can't tell the software used,I'd have assumed AE but it's amazing to hear the workflow and how this was made with this and that. Just the photo search would have been enough to wear me down, and everything pops to the music.

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ
Ha ha, yeah thanks, I had just worked that out and got it working, and was posting back to say what I did. And that's what I did basically. The whole "lm_select_shape" folder with the three pngs goes into the scripts resources folder. These are the first scripts I've installed and I was ex...

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ
Hi. I just got the Utility script from content paradise and also the select shape script and attempted to install them but it hasn't worked correctly. Firstly let me say that I removed the original select shape script that comes with ASP and put it somewhere else in case things went wrong. So here i...

Re: Google Adwords
That's beautiful. It's illustration brought to life. How was the textual quality realized? Did you bring the Anime Studio assets into a compositing program, because you can't get that look straight out of Anime Studio can you (or can you) ? As a side note, I'm new to this but if I had seen this anim...

Re: Shape stack order explained (UPDATED with pt 3)
I've already started to work with these techniques of layer stacking, it is really going to speed character creation and just drawing in general.
Of the scripts available, would you say that the mesh instance script is not something that ASP 9.5 does natively and so therefore necessary?

Re: Bone and layer set up question.
Can you share the file? I think I could help. Looks like I had a mediafire account already, don't remember setting it up though. http://www.mediafire.com/?51vr5amgol5067e If you have the time to work on binding the strokes to bones let us know. I'd like to know how to do it in the future. I'm reall...

Re: Shape stack order explained (UPDATED with pt 3)
I was blown away by that set of tutorials, it seems there is a lot of history and inside knowledge with ASP, particularly with the third party scripts. Some of the techniques you used such as just drawing the splines and constructing the thing before committing to strokes and fills were really revol...

Yes I was hoping that was possible but couldn't make it happen. I'll look into it now.

Re: Bone and layer set up question.
Thanks, yes good suggestion on the spokes. I'm playing with him right now, I realize that the animation does explode apart on frame zero now for some reason, but I guess that's how it is.

Re: Bone and layer set up question.
Okay, so I ended up doing as Slowtiger suggested, that seems the safest most stable way, thank you both for your help. I'm really starting to like this program a lot now as I find out more.

Re: Bone and layer set up question.
Groovy. I went ahead with my solution and it was okay but returning here and seeing these answers I went in and did more testing and now I think I have the nested layers thing working properly, with a bone layer as the top of each leg layer, this allowed me to just draw bones even in the posed chara...
