Drat :( , and just as I'm moving slowly across to Linux - I see Mainconcept's MainActor video editor is now available commercially for Linux - I was thinking Moho, Audacity, and MainActor as the basis of a nice animation environment. Hmm, half a sec, back up there. Moho sales are, as far as I know, ...

Possible buglet with timeline refresh

When using the Switch tool, adding a new keyframe using Active Child drop-down widget does not show a new keyframe marker in the timeline. The keyframe does affect the animation and the workspace, and the keyframe marker shows up if the project is saved and re-opened, so it appears to be just a miss...

the ability to compare and work on more than one layer at a time (this is a huge problem of all the keying, not just switch layers, IMO, how can you retime a whole scene, other than doing it all, layer by layer by hand). Well, you can change the overall timing using keyframe scaling, but I agree th...

each action basically has its own timeline where you can create a short animation clip. Then, you can insert actions into the main timeline. This is a seriously cool feature. The equivalent of poses and ... umm ... actions ... in 3D software. You can also overlap actions - the often-quoted example ...

It's a pity we dont actually save a certain animation cycle to something we can use over and over like movie clips... Hrm, Simpy, I believe that is available, if you group everything in your cycle under a top-level layer and save the file. Moho 4, under File; Insert Object ... Moho 5, under File; I...

Add my vote to this one.

Something like the volume-preserving Alt-scaling on vector layers, while using bones, would be a nice option - easier bone-based squash-and-stretch.

Regards, Myles.

Re: Exposure sheet

You've already got some of that functionality already in Moho, especially in v5, just turned sideways - that's almost what the timeline channel for a Switch layer does, only horizontally in the timeline instead of vertically in a spreadsheet format. Done (v4 and earlier) -create a switch layer and f...

I'm guessing slx100 is referring to the fill tools, and the translation to English has resulted in a minor misundertanding. If so: Version 4 and earlier had "fill" (including outline), and "outline only" buttons. Version 5 has just one fill button, and you now control fill and ou...

2 scripts for a lipsynch tool

As a minor experiment in scripting, I've put up 2 scripts to convert output from David Cuny's Java-based JLipSync program into Moho switch data. This should thus provide a phoneme/frame-accurate lipsynch program for Mac users, as well as Windows and Linux users. The scripts (warning: not well-tested...

A switch layer in Moho is a group layer that can display any one of several alternative sub-layers. A switch data file is one way to tell Moho when to display each sub-layer. So, your mouth variations (image or vector) will each provide one sub-layer of your mouth switch layer. Once you have created...

Re: Seeking Myles

Anyone know what happened to him? Off on three weeks holiday without a computer in sight  (whimper). Left the day after beta 1 had been released. :o Back online today for the first time (via a somewhat slowish modem). I've just seen one of your emails, Keith - thanks for the heads-up! Wow! N...
