Background Art

Sorry about that big image size. I'll see if i can fix that. Thanks for the encouragement and for the tip about the image libraries. I'll check that out. My wife's art is inspiring for me, too. It has the look of some of the Hungarian animation I've seen. for example: http://www.divshare.com/img/thu...

Background Art

Hello, I have been doing small animations for a few years as a hobby and I was thinking of how to increase my involvement with animation as well as make some money from it. Since both me and my wife studied art in college I was thinking perhaps we could get work as background artists for animation (...

Thanks for the new link. Very nice animation and background. I am looking at it also in terms of the cats head turning as you mentioned. I have been studying different animations and I see they use the same technique. Simple, but effective. No complicated problems for the animator, especially for th...

Hi Vern, yes I saw that post about the moving gradients and even played around with it a bit in ASP. That could be a good application for it, it will be interesting to hear from you about the results of your experimenting. Right now I'm trying to create characters and having problems with the painti...

Hello, could you re-post your animations? I would love to look at them, because of your description of how you did them and because I also use Painter.

Thanks, Udd.

With Windows you can select a group of images and drag them on to the stage. I don't know if that will work with your MAC.

Thank you. I also starting looking for it and found out that you have over 4,000 posts! Ha ha. I started from the earliest post and I'm working my way forward, getting distracted by other posts that interest me. Don't they say you have to learn to love the process and not just the result? I think lo...

question

I enjoyed seeing your work on You Tube. Actually I looked at everything you had there and the facial expressions were very nice. I notice you mention using bone rigs for the faces. Do have a demonstration of how to create such a rig (for the face) somewhere on this forum? It would be a great help fo...

Thanks funksmaname , I'm glad you like the character. Your right about swinging the arms at the elbow joint, I overlooked that. Also that is a nice comment about easing in and out speeds. Is that something I would do in the graph mode in the time line, with bone gravity , or just with key framing ? ...

Thanks for the comments Parker , because it's true when I walk I do not swing my arms so much. Actually I learned this walk cycle from The Animator's Survival Kit and in that the character is swinging his arms more. I am glad that the walk is smooth looking. I think I will try varying his walk and p...
