yes, scaling works fine. I generally prefer just poking it in pixel at a time, especially with cursors as you end up with a lot of ghosting when mousing over a dark shape. I have set a pointer outline with this in mind. So, here are some cursors. I hope they might be of use. I have put them all here...

standard cursors
My install has most tool cursors as a crosshair which I find difficult to see sometimes. I started adding some of these using a copy along the lines of the translate, scale, rotate which have the pointer top-left and tool-indicator bottom-right. tool: http://www.buddhamind.info/as/bits/lm_add_point....

12fps walk cycle
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice it seems, there is. http://www.buddhamind.info/as/bits/try-4b.gif So, getting my head around the walk cycle. This image is my first attempt at 12fps and I would welcome comment. The turn-around? (working on that :). I wa...

thanks for the super quick reply. Yes, I tried that. I have just now tried it in an empty instance of AS -- no problem. What was it about the earlier project? I tried it so many ways but now, in a separate instance, can't duplicate the issue. The only thing that may have varied previously was a seri...

Nice effect. It is great for me to have these examples to study as I 'peel the onion' that is AS -- especially having a file to download. It helps me learn when I write it out. Correct me if I am wrong as to my interpretation of this technique. Top layer (mask folder) - hide all > duplicate of backg...

adding points oddity
A bit weird but most likely there is a simple explanation. http://buddhamind.info/as/bits/points_weird.gif Two ovals overlapping - upper above lower. I decide to add two more points to the lower oval - at its upper end. The original lines (of the lower) are hidden beneath the upper, but the lines ne...

Thanks for the sketches slowtiger. Interesting to see that you work R>L. Yes, I tried outlining the shot of the living room. There was a bit more distortion than I would prefer. I like the possibility of being able to slow pan but will certainly experiment with the 'blurred middle' approach. Conside...

Thanks slowtiger - I pretty much thought that's what cylindrical perspective is. On the terminology front I would call the example that realsnake offered 3D space - with layer Y rotation. I eventually found a few web pages on cylindrical perspective but, as per your example slowtiger, they were all ...

I suspect, both from your comments and my own wrangling with perspective in 3D, that I will focus more on the drawn approach. I am not that experienced as an animator so 'cylindrical perspective' is an unknown. I guess, thinking on, i have seen Victorian 'what the butler saw' type apparatuses (appar...

3D space - perspective v's rotate Y
There are several procedural questions around 3D space but first... I wonder at the relative merits/pitfalls of drawn perspective v's rotate Y. One situation I have been working on: View is (interior) to a windowed wall. Person sits at a table reading. Knock knock. Pull back, track left and pan (not...

From the varied response it is clear there is NO general approach. Even so, your comments give me several things to consider 'along the way.' Thanks. I am at that stage where the tools are all laid out and their function is reasonably clear but, the order, the possible procedure of construction is m...
