you might find it useful to have a file sharing site like Media Fire set up so you can upload your file so we can see the problem. also state what version you are using pro or debut.you can always duplicate your movie layer as many times as you need and then shift each one in the sequncer to start 1...

yes you can import zbrush objects as obj. files. Or import into poser and rigg bones then import into AS if you have AS7 pro. I've done this so i know it works. Be careful to keep the poly count under 100k, cause AS can't handle high poly count and crashes frequently. ZBRUSH ROCKS!!!!

Try looking in PROJECT SETTINGS in the FILE submenu. I think there is a setting for "sort by true distance" maybe that might work, not sure , never really tried it out.

You can adjust the settings for the free hand tool by clicking on the freehand option button located right below the FILE/EDIT/DRAW etc. menus at the top of the workspace. You can set the stroke to constant thickness and turn off tapered ends.

make sure you're on frame zero, the drawing tools are only usable on frame zero unless you change it in the preferences sub menu

Do you mean your layer palet is un-docked? If so, try going to the window sub-menu at the top and try checking/unchecking the palet you want docked again.

I only seemed to see the red "preview"stroke when I have the auto-close option checked on.I checked it with my wacom in both AS6 and AS7. I too am kind of puzzled as to why they streamlined the free hand tool

I found this one to be quite entertaining. Very interesting style and story. I'm not sure though how much he used AS for it, but it all looked AS do-able.
