translating the points won't do anything to your video other than change the shape of the mask that contains it (if you're using masking)... adding bones, however, will give you the distortion you're looking for. check out the tutorial on using bitmap textures within vector objects, and just replace...

yet another line width bug - no switch interpolation?
ok, i've never gotten any response on any of these line width bugs i've posted, but might as well give it a shot - i just noticed something strange... i have a switch layer with interpolation on, and it's all working fine, except the one thing that isn't being interpolated is the line width. wonderi...

line width keyframes inside action resetting
okay, here's a weird one... i'm programming some actions which involve some very simple line width animation. within the action timeline, i adjust the width of a certain point on frame 1. then i click on another point to adjust, and the first one pops back to its original value! for some reason, i c...

I'll have to look at that script again, I've learned a fair bit since I wrote it and it shouldn't be too hard to make it much more flexible. Hey 7feet, if you can update this sometime soon, you will be upgraded from hero to SUPERhero, in my books.... trying to finish a character this week, for an a...

thanks vern, i tried yours, and it seemed easy to set up and use - but the fact that the controlled bone didn't update in realtime made it less useful to me... for this to be truly effective, since I can't see the bones that are being controlled, I need to see the effects as I'm manipulating the mas...

one more time - pretty please - any hints at how to make this work for multiple bones at once? this could be sooo powerful, but my attempts at using it for more than one bone at a time are yeilding strange and somewhat buggy results.... also, now's the time i need it most - trying to finish a comple...

Performance Slowdown - searching for the reason/answer
So, I've been getting into some complex stuff, and although I'm using a deadly fast machine, I feel like I'm starting to hit a wall with what MohAS can and can't do. The more complex my rigs/scenes become, the slower the program gets - just manipulating the bones and camera becomes a chunky chore. I...

Here's a question for you, GreyKid... I can tell from your work that lots of work has been put into the puppets, especially the 'reine du soliel' ones, and they must be pretty complex... I've been building some extremely complex puppets myself, and have found that at a certain level of complexity Mo...

Here's one example of how useful this is. I was in the process of building a body rig, and within the same bone layer as the rest of the body, built an intricate hand. then, once the hand was complete, I realized that it would work better if that hand was in a separate switch layer. also the fact th...

for anyone interested, i figured it out... i was using realworld scale in MAX, going by metres... meanwhile unbeknownst to me, the unit scale (even deeper within MAX) was set to inches. So, anything that was 1 meter, was actually as many units as there are inches in a metre (about 40). apparently, M...

3D madness
ok, this one is really confusing. I've been trying to bring 3D sets built in MAX into Moho, and noticing a bizarre anomaly: When I import the set at its actual size (which is built to real-world scale), it is virtually impossible to move the camera, the file chugs to the point of being unusable. I'm...

actually, after further inspection and some quiet contemplation, I take that last comment back, a little. (I guess I could just edit it but one shouldn't rewrite history) Further inspection of the content library reveals some pretty cool stuff, especially in the user movies folder. I think I was qui...

Re: uhgg! lol
I feel like a kid on xmas morning trying to open a package that is locked up...lol And now, the end of the joke: you finally get the package open, and inside is the exact same sweater that you're already wearing. Except the tag is different, and it cost your parents twice as much as what you paid f...
