I think pressing cmd-R is fast enough for me. Having all shades visible in editing view would slow down the work even more than it does now.

If you do a rotation of a shape just by point rotation, the software will always shrink the shape in the middle becaue it doesn't know that you want a curved path between the points' positions instead of the straight line it will produce automatically. You need to use layer rotation or bind that sha...

Nothing new on earth ... http://www.cartoonbrew.com/tv/colormation#comment features a process called "Colormation" which is not even rotoscope but a very similar effect, produced by the combination of orthochromatic film, bright lighting, and a makeup on the actors to enhance eyes and mout...

Don't even attempt to do. While AS is great in doing character animation, its SWF export isn't designed for delivering final formats like you need for internet or cell phone. It especially lacks any of Flash's strategies to minimize file size. If you need to create content for mobile stuff, having F...

All nice but - I can't change several characters' rigging during production, especially not if scenes get exchanged between animators ...

This - is - great. You HAVE to watch the other 2 from him.

Do as much as possible within one layer or bone layer. Instead of having multiple bone layers try using bone offset and keep bones on one layer. This eliminates the need to switch to a different layer. Many people have separate bone layers for arms and legs. If you don't do this animating the chara...

Don't mix up images with textures. Although both link to external bitmap files, their integration within AS is different. An image is bound directly to a bone, whereas a texture is embedded inside a shape. When this shape moves, its including rectangle moves differently and causes the texture to beh...

I think he means that body parts fall apart when he tries to move the bones. Sounds like imperfect bone binding?

Explosions can be made in infinitely different ways. It all depends on the style of your film. Easiest way: the cartoony explosion like it was done until 1950. There are enough classical shorts available online to watch and learn, get some and study them frame by frame since these explosions tend to...

Hm, no, I don't think so. All characters should stay at the same distance to the camera. This is your chosen style, 2D, so stick to it. Consequently stick to your initial choices is what makes a good film.
