Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

@Exile That very first release did far more damage than it did good: expectations among animators had risen to sky-high proportions, only to plummet flat on their faces due to Studio Ghibli's "adjustments". It was, in short, utterly and completely geared towards and adapted to Studio Ghibl...

Re: Is Moho the right tool i need?

A free option would be OpenToonz. Looking at that sample it includes some visual effects, a 3d plane camera for parallax, and use mesh deformation to animate separate parts (such as parts of clothing affected by wind, and a leg slowly semi-rotating/being deformed a bit). And you would be able to eas...

That was me, and I regret my comment to this day. I humbly apologize a second time.

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Just watched the documentary "Kingdom of Dreams and Madness", a film about Studio Ghibli and in particular Hayao Miyazaki as he and his team work and finish "The Wind Rises". An impressive documentary, and I would urge anyone even remotely interested in animation to watch it. And...

Reading my comment back, I must have been in a terrible mood - sorry about that. I apologize. Wasn't meant that way. Silly, really - it's just a word. :D

Re: Crab adventure with Sea Anemone and Anger Fish >5 minute

I kind of hate myself for saying this, because it's so pedantic, but I can't help myself..."anemone" is pronounced "an- EM -o-nee", not "an-uh-moan". Sorry to bring a little bit of rain to your parade. In Engish, yes. In other languages it is "an-uh-moan", or...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Storyboarder is quite nice too. Can't compare to TB, but still quite useful if you don't want to splash out all that money. Needs a good computer for smooth drawing.

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Oh, I agree - the first thing I change in Blender is switching to the left mouse button, and there are other GUI related issues that ought to be resolved in Blender. The 2.8 release will be addressing a number of these, and the developers are aware of the keyboard shortcut mess. Having said this, Bl...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

l don't quite agree , Many programs are easy to fall into .Some things are more obvious than others . For example piano seems obvious, but what's with the accordion? What are all those LITTLE buttons for? l 've had that explained , I've nodded and understood , but now, l couldn't tell you. Similarl...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Yes it is in the English Clip EX but as to Open toonz , how it works is a mystery. I could not get any BG images only black and white of the animated objects from Clip Studio, How Open Toonz works is a mystery to me it might as well be Blender. OpenToonz is simple once you understand the concept of...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

I use CSP EX and I have a lot of different graphic apps vector and raster. Clip Studio Paint is the only one that gives me the feeling of artistry. It is very comfortable. I hope for better animation a way to not have to copy paste so many frames. Example: Draw one object and be able to use it with...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Still it was worth every penny because Clip's line quality is amazing. On the left is my clip studio sketch, on the right are my flash sketches. The moral of the story is flash sucks, but I tolerated it for the infinitely scalable vector graphics. However, thanks to CSP, I may finally abandon flash...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Thanks for the recommendation herbert123! It's unfortunate that Clip Studio doesn't export to vector format, but awesome to hear that Opentoonz includes a vector engine too. I've been looking to break my dependence on Adobe products so I will definitely give Opentoonz a look at some point. Thanks a...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

@DarthFurby the newest version also has direct export to OpenToonz animation format. I love drawing in ClipStudio, but for animation production management OpenToonz is far superior. Best of both worlds now! While the export to OT from CS creates bitmap artwork, it is simple to convert the bitmap lin...
