Video Question: How to use smart bones more efficiently?
Hello, I had a couple of questions that I could not figure out and rather than typing my question I decided to just make a screen recording of my problem. I hope my questions make sense. The video is in the link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xmunayzx9x3zotf/Anime%20Studio%20Help.mp4 Thanks for your help!

Re: Dr. Cure. Constructive Criticism welcome!
With the mouth that wide open it sure would have been nice to see a tongue on the L or T sounds. Thanks Danimal! That was something I was struggling with. I will upload a video of different problems I am having with this rig - that was one of them - when the mouth is fully open I have a smart bone ...

Re: Dr. Cure. Constructive Criticism welcome!
I didn't think your English accent was that bad (and I'm English, I oughta know!). Haha thanks jahnocli! I was afraid it might throw off the animation altogether and upset an Englishman... I once saw a useful tip about lip syncing. Make a fist, rest your elbow on a desk or some hard surface, and th...

Re: Dr. Cure. Constructive Criticism welcome!
Awesome! Thanks for the advice Lukas! I have seen your animations and know that you definitely know what you are talking about! That is something I will definitely remember for my future animations is to just act it out myself then exaggerate my actions a little bit more, very helpful! Also, try to ...

Dr. Cure. Constructive Criticism welcome!
Hi I have an animation that is pretty much gibberish. It was created and recorded by me. This has been my first time doing lip sync with smart bones. When I first started Anime Studio I used actions. I found this to be a lot better looking. I need constructive criticism on what or how I can improve ...

Re: Sneak Walk Cycle, How can I improve?
I agree that you should include the whole character from the start. Here are a couple of 'sneaks' I did a while ago. They are 3D but the principle is the same of course. Awesome animations AmigaMan! Thanks for sharing those with me! I will use techniques like you have in your animation moving forwa...

Re: Sneak Walk Cycle, How can I improve?
Yeah, all of this is about creating a sense of weight. A sneak might seem a little trickier because it's going to be the opposite of most other walks because your character is trying to avoid heavy landing. So the actions on contact are smaller and more fluid, and the exaggeration should happen in ...

Re: Sneak Walk Cycle, How can I improve?
The hips stay the same height the whole time. I'd rather see them dip on each step. When sneaking, the whole body tends to move more than when just regularly walking. The upper body, when added, should hunch forward on each step too. Ha! That is definitely one of the things that I noticed that was ...

Re: Sneak Walk Cycle, How can I improve?
I recommend buying The Animator Survival Kit, the book will help a lot with basics of animation. It's a must have. I do have that book. Really good from what I read so far. Will keep on using it for tips, tricks, and techniques. I guess I tried doing something a little over my head and tried lookin...

Re: Sneak Walk Cycle, How can I improve?
This is strictly my opinion, but I think the feet go up too high for a sneaky walk... For stealth I tend to think of tip-toeing, and the the lower half of the legs just go up way too high... But I'm a beginner as well, so I may be completely full of crap... Haha I'm a beginner too, that makes US fu...

Re: Anime Studio 10 Webinar Follow-Up Questions
Great job on the upgrade! My only question is this: I, for one, can't draw cartoons if my life depended on it. I am curious why there wasn't more characters in the character wizard? I totally removed 9.5 before I noticed only 3 characters are in the wizard now. If you can't draw them it should at l...
