Voice Actors for A.S. Projects

Hey everyone, I hope it's ok that I started this thread here, but it seemed like the most logical place. I'm an ASP user and it occurred to me the other day that one of the things we may not give much thought to (since we are focused on animating) is that we need voices for our characters! I figured...

Hey Funk and Neon,
Thanks for the great ideas. To be honest I didn't even know you could do that. Never even thought of animating or scaling a stroke, but it makes sense now that I think about it. Thanks again!

Ok cool. Was thinking it was possible but wasn't sure. Thanks Gilles! :D

Random question

Hey guys, Take a look at this photo I'm using as a reference. I have a question about random facial lines (indicated by the white arrows) and how I might set them up in the model. For example, when the character turns all the way to one side, some of those lines will be gone/hidden. But since they a...

Hat question

Hey guys,
I have a question about Holme's hat in my design. In the pics above, you see how his hat has that back flap section (from side view)? Well, do you think it would be easiest to create the hat as front and back layers, that way when his head turns straight at the camera I can hide it easier?

Re: Eye question

Hey guys, I'm curious about something. How do you feel about the whole eye/eyelids issue? It seems like you don't really need eyelids because you can manually manipulate the eye itself to make it look like it's blinking. Any thoughts on this? I'm trying to decide if I want to mess with it in the ch...

Yah, this one probably won't be anything too fancy. It's going to be a short animation with about two sentences of dialogue and a head turn. He'll probably blink once or twice. I'll keep thinkin' on it =)

Hey guys, I'm working on my Holmes characters face and I have a question. Do you see those lines above and below his eyes? Should I just make those independent lines or should I make them part of the eye or eyelid layer? I can't figure this out and it's annoying me =) I'm thinking i'll put the white...

I would put part of the toupet on a separate layer, making it easy to layer animate and tween for a head turn, at least this is how I do it. http://www.mediafire.com/?rqi2bbcvucbbtuu Hey Gilles! Oh my god, I can't believe you created that model for me, especially when you've got a huge project of y...

Maybe you should first do it freehandedly, just so it looks right - then redo the result with the correct number of points. The idea of doing sketches and preliminary artwork first seems to be completely strange to many users here, methinks. Hey Tiger, Yes, I planned on drawing the reference models...

Well, luckily I've got a front and side view of this character, too, so I have all the reference material I need. The only problem is I can't just start designing each view of the head without thinking ahead, because if you don't have the same number of points/shapes, it can mess things up. If I did...

Ok guys, I'm going to attempt to post a link to an image of a Sherlock Holmes cartoon character that I want to model in AS for a short animation. But I have a question about his hair. See how his hair is parted in front and goes to either side? Well if he's turning his head to his left (our right), ...

Hey again guys, I'm trying to figure out how to post a pic on here, even as my avatar, so I can ask you a question about this character design. But I can't figure out how to post a pic and I can't get the image size small enough (6kb!) to post as my avatar. Any ideas??
