It looks like the motion graph should do the trick. I have a book for AS6 which explained how to use it. Thank you.

(I've been trying for the past 20 minutes to post an image...sigh)

I would use a bone layer to make my translation path curve a bit so that the farthest objects don't separate so much.

Thanks for the tip Jonbo. I never thought about interpolation. It will become part of my procedure. I'm going to have to either place my guide into a bone layer to get the perspective effect I want (I've never tried this) or increase the number of layers. I hope I can display a screen shot of deskto...

Would a particle layer fix this problem?

I posted a clip where two rows of sand dunes recede to the horizon. It doesn't look right. The tops of the dunes appear to shrink and they look like they're pulling away from each other as they move farther away. There are fourteen sand dune layer copies which cycle and 'layer reorder'. How do I fix...

GCharb, can you upload those files? I can use them. slowtiger explained something essential; 'Objects appear to recede more slowly as they get farther away.' (paraphrase). For example, you could have an object that moves to the vanishing point in five seconds in 1/2 second increments. The guide used...

I study the work of everyone that's replied so far and I'm working hard to learn the art of animation and AS. What other animators think matters to me. I'm learning most of what I know through this forum. neeters_guy demonstrated a flaw in my reasoning when I assumed "If I make the car fast, th...

Cyclist passed by Fast Car

I hope forum members find this video interesting. The subjects move toward the camera. My background is empty because I haven't mastered everything I wanted to animate yet. (Distant poles caught up with foreground poles). Thanks to slowtiger for teaching me the techniques. http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Nice. Satellite dish on the igloo. I was rocking to the music. The snowball splat and the penguin falling on his head synced to the guitar. The elf is so annoyed that his eye twitched. Subtle. Did you play the guitar yourself?

I agree with ruscular3d. I like the old blink. I think it sets your characters apart. I study a lot of what I see in this forum because I have so much to learn but in the end I want to be unique. I think we all want to add something new to the mix.

You have saved me a bit of frustration by helping me realize that I couldn't just 'click off' that line. The problem was caused by the 'shadow' vector showing through the 'dune' vector after rendering. The sand dune is a three layer group with the 'shadow' layer at the bottom and a gradient at the t...

How do I turn off a layer effect?

I have a line at the base of a sand dune where I used the 'Hide Line' tool. It looks like a default layer effect that I don't know how to disable. I'm working on a clip where I'm going to add a lot of objects that recede into the distance and that line ruins the effect that I want. The dune enters t...
