Also, I looked at one poster's suggestion of blurring within AS, and the image layer blur works on the entire layer, so not sure what was meant there. Well you'd have to import whatever you're blurring (outline, highlights, etc.) as separate layer/s. As long as you are using PNG's with transparency,...

OK, I did a test and created some test image in Gimp. Export and import worked fine, the image quality was always top, in Gimp, in Photoshop, and in AS. Did you, by any chance, forget to render the image in AS? (It's ctrl-R) Because everything you see on screen while animating is just a low quality...

Ah, I forgot to mention the size. If your AS project size is 768 x 576px, a BG made in Gimp must be of the same size or a bit larger to look good. If you have a small object in the scene and want to zoom in to it (say, a face which normally is 1/8 screen high, but you want to zoom in for a close up...

quick method to match zoom of image
I'm adding another image layer to a scene, but I would like to have the new image layer (which imports a slightly modified copy of the original image in the first image layer) line up exactly with the original image layer. It seems surprisingly difficult to get the outer boundaries of the two same s...

The easiest method would be to have separate switch layers for each specific angle, that way each just uses a standard set of phoneme names. Each of these you'd put in yet another switch layer. Well I just figured out that it is the name of each layer that is switched, not the name of each imported...

PNG images in switch layer too pixilated
I made a number of images with transparency to import to ASPro to build parts of a characters. I used tools in Gimp to make the edge boundaries blurred, and the composite image looks pretty good when viewing the undlerying face and the switch layer images on top. But when I using the very same image...

Workflow recommendation for lip syncing multiple head angles
I figure others must have faced this choice and have a best method. Lip syncing with papagayo is very sensitive to the file name. What is the recommended worklow for having multiple angles of the head for a character when you want to lip sync? for example AI_front.jpeg vs. AI_profile.jpeg or Bill_AI...

Where is "import" content stored, how do I add to
The ASPro File , Import command lets you quickly load in content. For example, Mouths let you select some pre-built mouths for lip syncing with a Papagayo generated .dat file. Where does ASPro physically store these files? What is the recommended workflow for storing content that is used in one or m...

Note: the tool can be used to get the number of frames for any length of time, not just for music.

Cool, thanks for sharing. You're asking me how *I* set mine up, right? Because there are lots of ways to do it depending on how you work. For me the top row (reading left to right) is: (unassigned), Control-Z (undo), Z (Manipulate Bones), S (size) Second row of five buttons is: Play even from the st...

Hi mkelley, Do you think you might share your Shuttle Pro key mappings overall? I'm still learning AS but already had the shuttle. - Roger That's okay, Vern --your heart is in the right place. I really wish it did work for us Window users. I have a Shuttle Pro and I was envisioning adding the comman...

It occurred to me you didn't mean what you said My misinterpretation of the User Interface of AS. If any sub layer of in the layer pane is active, then the Timeline window changes and the keyframes are no longer visible. Also, if you press play the audio still works but the main window does not pre...
