Just check you have the visibility on rogermate, that may sound obvious but ,hell, I did the same thing just the other night. It makes a shape but when you press the space bar all you see are the vertices if your visibility is on the you will see the shape you had actually succesfully made many tim...

2. Learn - meshinstance - masking in AS First, I haven't done anything on paper first. Funny in this computer age that paper could still be usefull for design and ideas, but I can see how that could make sense. I know what masking is, I can see how a moving mask would be good for a moving highlight...

Highlight text with a shine or something
Looking for ideas (or .anme examples if they exist would be reall cool) for how I could highlight text. One idea is to animate a color change of the text, which could be subtle or dramatic. Another is size. Is there some way to get shiny stars to flash across the letters without a lot of work? One i...

Difference between a shape's outline & lines?
Trying to learn AS approach to drawing, and I'm getting stuck when there are shapes for which I can't change the rendering of the outline by using the Style palette. What is the difference between a multi-segmented line and a shape? Is the only difference that a shape has at least one closed region?

Find where points on a shape are not connected
I've imported some .eps files.
Apparantly what look like closed shapes aren't, but are just line segments.
Is there a quick and easy way to find which pairs of points are not actually connected so you know where to weld them together?

Not quite there yet...
I've gotten line segments to join, but now I can't get the new letter to be a shape. I've tried creat shape, selected all points, the CreateShape buttom becomes active - but when I click on it the selection of points disappears and it doesn't act like a shape. Do shapes created by InsertText behave ...

Doh!
I was clicking. You just need to drag to connect line segments. When you start on one it will auto weld and when you end on one it also autowelds. I found it easy to add temporary points, weld them to the shapes to join so that the lines are connected, delete the temp points, then position the mergi...

merge shapes or line segments?
I created some text with insert text into a vector layer. (my first attempts with vectors) I've been able to edit the text to my liking for a logo, but now I'm stumped. I'm trying to take a line segment and merge it into another character. What I tried was welding the line segment. Moving the segmen...

When you create new layers or draw new vectors or add points on any frame AFTER frame 0 Anime Studio has no reference key frame. So when you create a new layer on frame 24 it will be INVISIBLE up to that frame. It becomes visible at the frame you created it. Start the habit of creating NEW things O...

In the new version 5.6 you can't drag layers into or outside of group layers on any frame other than frame 0. You must be on frame 0 to move layers into or out of a group layer because of the new animated layer order feature. -vern That's it. There seem to be a lot of these things that are not intu...

Problems nesting group layers
I'm having problems trying to create some nested layers. This is without any Bone Layer, but using group layers for a Sue, and a layer for SueHead and a Switch Layer for SueMouth. I want SueMouth to go in the layer for SueHead so that rotation will affect both. I'm aware that a group layer must be e...

you can put registration marks on the image file to line up the parts in AS. then remove the register marks and resave the images. Some way to do that was on my wish list, now I have it! Crop the layered PSD, or what ever format you are using, to the same size. Maybe I have something wrong. I thoug...

image scaling across layers
In retrospect, it makes sence that layers within a group or switch layer would inheret the scaling (and positioning, etc.) of the parent group. How do you make sure that you are dealing with consistent scaling when you are compining parts of the same original source image into a switch layer? For wh...
