I second Monkey Jam. It would make it possible for her to adjust the timing on the animations (doubling, tripling, etc. frames) very easily with it's x-sheet setup. Oh! I didn't realize the timing was adjustable in Monkey Jam. Excellent news! myles, THANKS for the customization instructions!!! Okay...

Thanks for the links, rylleman! However, my daughter wants to animate her own characters and stories. Heck, while I'm typing this, she's telling me she wants to animate a movie about a girl who saves her land from destruction....and something about a bracelet (I'm only half-listening as I type). Reg...

You know, since Moho is completely configurable with lua, it would be possible to create a new set of icons and not use some of the old ones, and do maybe 80% of what you are suggesting! Neat! I'm not totally sure what that entails, but I know I can't do that. My knowledge in that area is zero. :( ...

MOHO Lite

Haha, I feel silly after having typed "MOHO Lite" as the subject. MOHO Lite?! Haha. Okay, seriously. I desire a Lite version of MOHO, a version stripped-down and super-easy to use. An extremely basic MOHO with nothing fancy. See, my young daughter wants to animate some cartoon ideas she ha...

Funny! Each one better than the last, IMO. The timing of the funny at the end of the first one was a little off, I thought. But it was still good. A great first effort, if one doesn't critique the animation very much. I loved seeing the ball from the Moho tutorial in your second movie. And the bobbl...

Thanks for the help, Lost Marble and myles. Why Moho does what it does regarding full-circles makes sense now, and I'm glad Moho sports that feature. Counter-spinning was not something I had thought of; it should address most of my problems until I get more skillful with the bone tools. Thanks for t...

Dang it. I just went ahead and deleted the dang dots and started over. Maybe I should stop trying to use the rotate bone tool. I swear, whenever I try to use it, it never does what I expect, and the body-part I'm messing oftentimes spins 360 degrees in my confusion. I probably should lock a foot-bon...

Thanks, Jack Payback. I just tried your idea and I couldn't make it work. The problem is that there are no dots in the screwy in-betweens to delete. There are dots at keyframe 6, but the screwy movement happens in the Moho-created in-betweens 1 to 5. When I delete the dots at keyframe 6, the whole f...

In-betweens remember my mistakes

Hi. Tony here. Here's my problem.... I am trying to make the green-shirted guy from the tutorial walk two steps...and my efforts looks horrible because of the in-betweens. When I go to position a thigh, a shin, a foot, or any body-part for that matter, I often pick the wrong tool and cause the body-...

Ah. There we go. Now I definitely get it.
:)

Thanks,

Thanks, F.M! I found the thread you mentioned in Tips and Techniques. I'm now optimistic again that I can figure this walking-thing out.

Making a simple figure walk a few steps

Would one or more kind souls post a tutorial in this thread explaining how they go about animating a simple walking human-like figure? My efforts have been disasters. I can't seem to animate a stick figure beyond its first step without making heaps of errors while moving the bones. The on-line tutor...

Re: New to MOHO, 4 questions

Thanks for the replies! You folks were very helpful...and quick! And thanks for the semi-obscure definition of translate, and for the link to that interview. AND for this sentence, "Translate, rotate, and scale are the holy trinity, if you will, of object manipulation" (kdiddy13). I had no...

New to MOHO, 4 questions

I downloaded the demo and did the first 13 tutorials, and I just have to say, WOW, this program is incredible. If the answer to question #1 is encouraging, I'll happily buy this program. Question #1: What is the quality of a MOHO animation when played on a tv? I want to create good-quality animation...
