Very nice job, toontoonz. I love the look. Before I viewed it I thought that you might have used photographs, but this is much better. It's very painterly, very rich-looking and lush. It reminds me of the paintings of Henri Rousseau, those lush, colorful, almost cartoon-like environments. Do you hav...

Thanks, Rasheed. That's brilliant. Using switch layers for the bones themselves is a great idea.

I think your walk cycle is really coming along very nicely. I agree with you about The Animator's Survival Kit - it's definitely a must have! Here's a question: do you use bone locking for the feet? If so, how do you use it? I've tried out teotoon's tutorial, but when i lock the foot bones they don'...

I highly recommend a drawing tablet, especially the Wacom Intuos or Graphire (those are the two I use, and they are very good). But a scanner is also a very good tool to have. If your budget can support it I think it would be worthwhile to have both. I'd probably get the tablet first, though.

It's hard to tell that she's walking, because you don't see the legs, and she's the same size throughout. It looks like she could be swaying to music. I agree with what jorgy said, also. Overall, it's well done as far as drawing and movement of the body. I like the style.

I've used a program called Delineate (for Mac), but it's really a sort of Potrace clone, and it does the same thing. I haven't really explored it that much so I'm not sure if there's an outline option. But, what about taking the output file of Potrace, opening it in Illustrator (or whatever vector p...

I like him. I think he needs tiny little forearms, though. Otherwise, how will he be able to box? Will he have a pouch (or I guess that should be, will SHE have a pouch)?

Yeah, that's the way I would do it, I just thought you meant that it was possible to actually color an image in Moho. Thought I might have missed something there.

I work in the Graphics Department of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA. I do graphs, illustrations, and animation for the scientists here. For animation I mainly use Cinema 4D, as most of what I need to do is 3D, but Moho has broadened my animations greatly....

Love your character! You're right, walk cycles are hard. I found TeoToon's tutorial helpful, but also, if you want a good book, The Animator's Survival Kit, by Richard Williams, is an excellent one, with a lot of good info in it about walk cycles. To add to what everyone else has already said, I thi...

Wow, I didn't know this. Photoshop has a lot of brushes. Maybe they can be used in Moho? I'll have to give it a try.

Experiment with some of the brushes. Some of them look like a sketchy sort of pencil type outline. Not exactly, though, but there are some nice ones. I would imagine there might be a way to create your own brushes, but I couldn't find it in the manual. That would be a nice addition to Moho.

There is a Pan/tilt tool in the camera tool section (last one on the right). I'm sure you can animate the panning. Is that what you mean to do? I don't think you can set a target for the camera to follow, but maybe that's something that could be scripted.
