Thanks funk ~~ ... and then after what seemed like ages (but not too long) the character came really fast into shot with a crazy face... made me giggle. This is exactly the effect I was going for. This feedback is really good to know ~~ pregnant pause but not too long. He looks like a very malevolen...

Just trying out a new character...

This is no epic 'toon or anything ~~ just a little gag I whipped up for my Kayak polo club's website. I haven't paid any attention to details so it currently looks plain. Any thoughts on how to make waves (create a wave effect) in the pool? http://www2.bc.edu/~nagelh/exploring.animation/kayakpolo-an...

IMHO it really doesn't matter whether you can or can't draw to make cartoons. Some of us may be >ahem< age advantaged >ahem< enough to remember such classics as "Rocky and Bullwinkle". 'Didn't exactly look like it was drawn by Leonardo Da Vinci. I think what really matters in drawing toons...

Oh my god that's hillarious! Don't know what you mean about your anim skills ~~ the timing's spot on to generate a good laugh! Your drawing style reminds me of a show that airs weekly here in the states ~~ it's called "King of the Hill" and was originated by the same guy that did "Bea...

Hahaha! Those Ren&Stimpy styled Yogi and Jetsons 'toons are fabulous

So, yeah ~~ I'm betting you'll come up with a nicely stylized Flintstones type 'toon in AS. Please post when you do ~~ I'm looking forward to seeing your result!

Now comes the tedious work of animating this- which is a super pain when you want to achieve a cartoony feel to them (lots of point motion going on here- ieeeahhh!) The question is ~~ what kind of cartoony look'n'feel? To me the Flintstones sort of epitomizes the idea of "limited animation&quo...

More walk cycles

While we're on the topic of walk cycles (and, yes, the 'Animator's Survival Kit' is a great reference for this) here are a couple of my recent studies. I found the front-view walk-cycle difficult in the extreme to do. And, obviously, this is not a polished example. I'd really like to see more exampl...

Brilliant drummen ~~ thanks for checking that out. Please feel free to keep the MAC readable video on the 'Net. And if you already have the rest of the learning videos converted to the MAC readable format please feel free to post them for other MAC users. Also, if you've converted the files, perhaps...

Hi Genete ~~ Yes I saw your example. It's a great example and BTW I love your 3D stuff. But for my present purpose ~~ a 3D rotation rig isn't quite what I need. I did however manage to figure out HeyVerns trick using layor ordering. And that seems to be the key for me. I have a VERY ROUGH sketch of ...

Thanks for the feedback. Now that I look at it again you're right ~~ my turtle guy character does sort of seem suspended between a biped and quadro. It's a tough angle to capture. I was going for a perspective that sort of has him looking up at the character he's talking to (which fits the animatic)...

front view walk cycle

Hi ~~ I'm trying to do a frontal view walk cycle and came across this post in this forum... Unfortunately, it seems that most of the links people put up with examples are broken. Can anyone who has one ready please post some links to to example front view walk cycles done in AS? I studied HeyVern's ...

Looking for your thoughts on this character...

Greetings Folks

This is no epic 'toon or anything but a character design I've worked on for one of my favorite fables. I'm interested in any constructive criticism anyone might have concerning the design.
