Very funny and refreshing  Sound effects and voice talent were very good, character animation was reasonable, staging was good, special effects were good, but not all of them. FWIW I have some tips for improvement: - flash-burning of the corpse needs much better SFX - lip-synching is a bit off ...

I have no experience with tablets, but I saw the Adesso tablets being advertized on the Apple website as "Ergonomically designed wireless tablet with scroll mouse for easy drawing, handwriting, sketching, coloring and picture editing." Adesso produces several models, ranging from $69.99 to...

Putfile.com is a better alternative, because it accepts up to 10 Mb, while Zippyvideos.com has a 5 Mb limit. At the moment Putfile is faster as well.

Or Paul Verhoeven with a similar budget, live actors, weak plot and loads of SFX

I would like to give you this advice: do frame-by-frame where applicable and interpolation where possible. Typically, when a change in velocity is involved (like the moment when a moving arm changes from moving backwards to moving frontwards, and vice versa) you almost can't escape using frame-by-fr...

Your term "distraction" is probably beter than both "real" or "convincing". Then distraction is is. During sweatboxing those distractions should be eliminated. I'll remember that when I create my first minutes long animation. Thanks! I noticed the floating because I kn...

One suggestion, work on the actual movement. I notice the typical "floating" look Moho interpolation often has (I'm guilty too!), if there are more and more abrupt keyframes it looks more real. I know it's just semantics, but isn't "convincing" a better term here than "real...

OpenGL eh... is that a 3D app rendering system or something.. i think i've seen the word plastered over someones website. Is OpenGl software or hardware? See here . In simple terms: Open GL is a middleman between your computer's hardware and the program you're using (e.g. Moho). Open GL contains fa...

This sounds like a 'Macs are better than PCs' argument. Please, be more precise. Last time I looked in a dictionary, "PC" meant "Personal Computer". Did you actually mean 'MacOSX is better than WinXP' argument, or 'PowerPC is better than Pentium' argument? AVI is an old and obso...

It's only for importing vector shapes into Moho - if you want to work with strokes, textures, etc, you may be best served using PNGs as objects or fills. Of course -- if you don't mind the extra work -- you can recreate the stroke effect by tracing those PNGs (just as you would have done with scann...

Please, have a look at this: http://www.biomotionlab.ca/Demos/BMLwalker.html So, all I need to focus on when tracing life footage are: - hip region (deep triangle, pointed upwards) - knees - heels - shoulder region (shallow triangle, pointed downwards) - elbows - wrists Then I'll have to figure out...

Thanks for the insightful answer. I guess analyzing motion is just the beginning. You have to translate it into a cartoon character animation somehow. Am I correct in assuming that you should emphasize some of the characteristics (e.g. in this runner: he is clearly skinny, his slightly bent posture ...

Trace Life footage

I've read somewhere in the LM forum that tracing life footage is a good tool to learn how to animate. I had some life footage of a local running race, so I used that. http://members.home.nl/rene.van.belzen/Moho/Runner/runner.gif Before I use this (or anything else from life footage) I want to know i...
