It must be a bug in the display mode, because both Preview and Render from the file menu give the same result, while Preview in the Display Quality option list (i.e. display mode) gives a different result.

The basic idea is to draw a shape once, and then duplicate the layer and modify it by moving the points around. So the point interpolation done by a switch layer actually only effects Point Motion . Point Curvature, Fill Color and Line Color interpolation all have to be done by hand. Quite differen...

keep in mind if you want to interpolate the layers (tell moho to do the inbetweens) you have to keep the same amount of vectors in the sub layers! It is more subtle than simply the same number of points. See what happens if you misalign the points: http://www.freespace.nu/files/48_1115906326.gif ci...

Some statistics: At 06.25 GMT today I checked the memberlist for number of posts: 0 (258), 1 (97), 2 (74), 3 (45), 4 (27), >4 (184) which means IMHO that only a small portion of the 700+ registered users actually participates in the forum. The 258 users who had 0 posts are either people who never po...

stephen wrote:How did you convert Moho's output to an animated gif?
Output as PNG, imported each file into Gimp as layer, exported as animated GIF, reduced colors with Gifworks to a minimum.

How about a challenge for Moho users?

On the risc of being rediculed by some for proposing something while I myself have no authority on the matter... As I discovered in the discussions of the How to prevent the Moho flow and in Why are Moho animations often like sitcoms? the problem some (if not many, including myself) Moho users have ...

www.putfile.com There are probably also local initiatives (in your own country) as well. For instance, I discovered filmers.nl for Dutch (non)professionals, which gives you 20 Mb of space to put your movies (home video, animation, whatever) online. Do a Google search and you may find more movie ser...

I wish I never brought it up.... Well, I'm happy you nevertheless did :D It's now clear to me that if you can picture your character in your mind as a living, breahing person, it's so much easier. So my hunch was correct (although clumsely stated) when I wrote: walk cycles can also be created witho...

Re: Why mostly sitcom animation in cartoon shorts?

A couple of weeks ago, I watched the DVD "Chuck Jones: In-betweens and Extremes, A Life in Animation": Mind you, people from outside Canada and U.S.A, Amazon mentions this: Encoding: Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. This DVD will probably NOT be viewable in other countries. ) Edit: However...

Uhhg, isn't that a bit challenging for a newbie? I should have seen that one coming

Hmm, let's see what my rather untalented brain can come up with (and give you guys some rest and peace on this forum, because it's going to take some time).

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/RaNaBe/bomb.gif I guess you rather meant minimal animation (see pic on the left) as opposed to full animation? I meant the storyline is often that of a sitcom: more or less predictable (but nontheless amusing). Slapstick has more of an "unknow factor"...

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for informing me :D

Why then hasn't LM solved this problem yet, if bones are such an important part of the program?

Why mostly sitcom animation in cartoon shorts?

Is there a reason why most of the cartoon shorts made in Moho (at least the ones that are mentioned in the LM Forum -- please, correct me if I'm wrong) are based on situation comedy like plots, instead of other forms of entertainment, like slapstick . I always thought that slapstick was more appropr...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/RaNaBe/walkingrectangle.gif I only used add points, translate points, union skinning, cycle and translate layer to create the design and animation of this walking rectangle. It seems walk cycles can also be created without bones, and that the so-called "M...
