Using the library is another easy way to access material - especially from older projects. It is worth spending a bit of time reordering a project and saving it as a library file.

free (version of) AS opinions

I am not sure if this should be in 'other software' but... here goes: EDIT: I realised my title (without the parenthesis) might bring an onslaught of opinions - free - of course. That might be more than I require just now :D Does anyone have any experience with the free version of Anime Studio - the...

Thanks for the thoughtful reply Genete. I have been fiddling with both the point scripts and manual cleaning - the circles had the most points but replacing with a new 5 or 6 point circle takes time- positioning and all soooooo, your advice is right on. Especially that they will be animated and I ca...

point reduction

I have an old set of AI files I want to use and they have way too many points when imported. I have tried both 7feet and Myles' script but the settings don't give me much control. The only useful item is picking every second point but this is a bit too aggressive. Is there anyone who has any fresh e...

No, it is standalone software but colorfinder is only 40kb You don't need to find out what an existing color is - it is what it is. If you want to use it for another shape you can either use the eyedropper or use the 'select shape' push/pull. If this doesn't meet your needs perhaps you could explain...

Why bother with a script when there are lots of free color pickers available.

I use colorfinder for simple picks (free):

colorpic - iconico.com for more complex schemes.

Try using clipart. There are masses of it around for free - characters and objects. It is commonly vector so needs to be formated to get it into AS. Useful for: free artwork - use it as it is or trace simple line drawing examples to study style/technique idea stimulation - I just browse images and.....

I have reported it as a bug.

The work-around I used is to tile it in another prog and import that image. Messy but no big deal. I can only presume it will get fixed in the next update of the prog.?

Yes, Genete, it works fine in 5.6

This may have already been reported but here is my version: On a vector layer draw a rectangle. Fill that shape using "image texture" - select 'tiling.' Here is a sample file: http://www.BuddhaMind.info/as/bits/tiling_test.anme Here is the sample image I used with that file: http://www.Bud...

There are two free apps I use: Celtx - storyboarding. http://celtx.com/download.html I agree with Madrobot that paper sketches are the way to go. I like celtx as it gives structure to my somewhat messy process. It pulls the sketches and scribbled scripts and notes and stuff into (some kind of) order...
