That's great! (edit) I should say more. The design is very clever because it has the eyes and nose floating freely on a uniform surface. This makes things much easier when it comes to turns. Your other scene, the walk cycle, looks very promising. This is really good stuff. If you now just have a goo...

While some people chew their nails about future program versions, others already work with what's there, and make money with it.

There's a known bug about rendering on Mac OS. You can work around this with using the Batch Export option instead of Export Animation.

Huh, that's a tough one. You'll need: 1. a place to show the films. Typically this would be a cinema, but a theatre or any big enough room for 200 seats will do. You can even do it open-air. 2. projecting equipment. 3. filmmakers willing to send you their films. 4. an audience. 5. money. 3 and 4 are...

Of course a blur doesn't look like a camera out of focus - it's an entirely different effect. For the most effects this doesn't matter, but if you really want to emulate that you need some more effort.

More contrast, more composition, a lighter area in the middle where the action is. Actual colour would depend on the character and the time of day. Overall I'd try to make the composition more interesting - what is it you want to tell in this shot?

Just for the record: I use AS on a Mac (PPC G5) and it usually runs a week without interruption, then I reboot just for safety and because I have the impression that everything slows down a lot. During this time other applications run as well, like Safari, Photoshop, Mirage, Flash and so on. AS cras...

I don't do 3D, so this is just a guess: OBJ files imported into AS need to be solid because AS doesn't have the kind of render engine needed for 3D and 3D transparencies.

But others here know much more about this subject.

Since it seems you did the export from AS part right, the mistake must be inside the AfterFX part. Take care to follow the hints in the AFX manual.

The switch layer has only one timeline, where the keys for the switches are placed. Other than that, it doesn't have functionality.

If you want to move one of the views of your character, you have to go inside the switch folder to that specific layer which has its own timeline.

I always found this the hardest part of design: to choose colours which work well together and let the characters stand nicely before the BG. I already mentioned the lessons on John Kricfalusi's site several times, they're great! Let's see if I can put something from those lessons to good effect. 1....

1. Create a switch layer. 2. Put one layer for each view into the switch layer. (into = drag it on top of the switch layer until this turns red, the release.) It doesn't matter if these layers are vector layers or images or groups or bone layers. 3. All those layers need to be visible. 4. Choose a t...
