Ha found a very good deal with wacom bamboo tablet for only $40. $40!!!! :D :o   :P I've been using the Wacom Bamboo exclusively for well over a year now, and I do a lot of drawing. I bought it because I was planning to travel (and have been doing so since I got it in June 2008) and did...

Re: I'M BACK after a long hiatus...

"Big Buck Bunny" @ http://www.blender.org . And the Blender Foundation is currently working on "Project Durian. I didn't even know about that one. I have seen that character many times before though. Blender has been making some real strides in the 3D world for quite some time. I may...

Anime Studio Japan

With a name like Anime Studio, you would think this tool should be getting noticed in Japan. Different than Manga Studio, which, as I understand it, actually came from Japan and was translated to English by E-Frontier (now Smith Micro), Anime Studio was simply named so by them to catch a new audienc...

There's a couple I forgot to add... Yasuhiro Yoshiura who independently created Pale Cocoon which is a very high quality production. He did one or two others before this as well. Frogman I don't remember his real Japanese name, but he created a Flash cartoon called Sugai Kun to Kazoku Ishi (basicall...

So while it might sound good to say "yeah, by all means go for your dreams" it's actually far better advice to tell the kid -- "kid, it's impossible and don't waste your time." I remember reading that in early auditions, someone in power in the studio said those words to Tom Cru...

I will post new info on the blog eventually, but I'm also doing the new nigen series and some specialty training videos on how to make your project, dealing with specific topics like 3D modeling or making worlds in Vue. On top of that I am doing a commissioned cartoon gig at the moment and that is t...

Re: I'M BACK after a long hiatus...

...many examples of others who are doing it without milions of dollars or major backing. Welcome back! Who are these "others"? I'd like to check out their websites and maybe buy their dvds. Off the top of my head I would name: Phil Nibbelink (check spelling) - He made the indie feature Ro...

I think that the 8-track, vinyl records, and the push lawn mower have all seen their day. Next we will be talking about those cheap graphic we refer to as machinima or old school game look. You see the game look is going to advance too to more realism. Nvidia already has a real time ray tracing ren...

This sounds like a conversation I missed a good chunk of. Is there a thread about what you had originally planned as a movie? I'd love to know more about it. As you may or may not know I've been planning and putting together independent animation projects for a while. I would love to follow your pro...

Thanks human and Amigaman for those detailed reviews of my book. I think you both clearly see what I'm going for, even if the polish level didn't quite meet your expectations. Of course, going it alone, I'm not entirely surprised. Human, your cel shading straight out of iClone shoes some real potent...

I'M BACK after a long hiatus...

I am back after a long time away, not just from this forum, but from many aspects of what I do. I've been traveling quite a bit during that time, mostyle in Asia, experiencing the animation world first hand. I've seen the future, you might say, and now I've returned to get back to creating dreams. I...

I always do the entire face in one layer. And as regards morphing, with a model setup with well placed morphs, point animation can be very easy and you have a surprising range of motion in a character.

It doesn't make sense to buy something you already own twice. Well, technically, according to those lovely license agreements that we "accept" when we install software, we never really "own" ay of it. Most of the software I use, Lightwave, modo, Vue 5 etc. have all been one purc...
