Re: Anyone interested in teaming up?

Nice Jahnocli! I especially like the zombie walks! I'm still working on the storyboards. Actually I just got them back from a contributor who is not on this board and quite a few changes have to be made. I had not told him that the animation was not being done by hand so there are a lot perspective ...

Re: Ordering layers

In addition to putting your layers in a Group Layer (or Bone Layer), you must also double-click the group layer, select the Depth Sort tab, and check "Enable animated layer order". I had some trouble with this myself. I was doing everything correct but it wasn't working. I got out of Anime...

Re: my showreel 2014

Wow, that was amazing! I hope that I can one day do as well.

I don't speak the language so I don't know if it was one continuous story or not. But my recommendation is to make it much shorter; under two minutes.

Re: Anyone interested in teaming up?

I see storyboards primarily as a guide for framing shots, as well as for action, timing and emotion. I don't think that they are particularly useful as a guide for backgrounds, color, or character design. That's more than I would be able to deliver anyway. I am glad to see the experimentation with t...

I am working on the storyboard, but it will probably be about a week.

TheMinahBird wrote:@ steveryan2, Hi! I sent the picture on the forum of the female character you can just build her if you'd like instead of the buildings.
Thanks MinahBird. I start working on the head; that hair is going to be a serious challenge! I am very impressed with Iwaxana's head turn for the other character.

Re: Which is best? Smart Bone dial controls or Blend Morphs

Thanks dueyftw for trying to help. I already understand Actions; I actually find them very simple. I thought that was evident because one would need to understand Actions first before using either Blend Morphs or Bone Dials, since Actions are required for both. What I was doing was comparing methods...

Re: Which is best? Smart Bone dial controls or Blend Morphs

Actually the point of this post was to compare Blend Morphs to Smart Bones, and determine the best use of both.

Re: Anyone interested in teaming up?

They look great! My favorite is number 6. I think 2 and 6 would work well for the guys plowing the field and then 1 for the child (if there will still be a child). But I think 2 would probably have some facial hair in a zombie apocalypse scenario. I am in favor of these choices. Facial hair on one ...

Re: Which is best? Smart Bone dial controls or Blend Morphs

Since both Blend Morphs and Bone Dials are merely controls for using Actions, I went off the assumption that anyone interested in the question in the first place would know what Actions are.

For the uninitiated, Actions are reusable poses and animations. Very much worth looking into.

Re: Which is best? Smart Bone dial controls or Blend Morphs

After a lot of experimenting I think I've found a complete answer to my question as to which is better; Blend Morphs or Smart Bones. This is just my opinion from my own somewhat limited experience; yours may differ. I am just sharing in case this may be helpful to someone. I was confused about what ...

Re: Looking for freelance animator to do cutout or bone anim

Hi Robert I noticed no one has replied to your request. I imagine most people are hobbyists and have full time jobs. Others are full time animators. In any case I'm guessing most have a full schedule and like to use their off time to work on their own projects. You have done a lot of the leg work al...

Re: 34 Bucks to Blow

I understand what it is to need help. I'm okay at rigging and would like to help if I can. Do you have another character? As far as the building devouring the car, I recommend the mouth on the building be on the side rather than the front. Will that work from an art direction point of view? I can he...

Re: Anyone interested in teaming up?

Wow! Amazing drawingsJahnocli!

My favorites are A, B and C. If I had to pick one, I would go with A. I do like the vacant eyes and the decaying nose. B is very similar with the main difference that he does have one eye.

Great work!!
