Another option..

You can always use GIMP, which is free, and will export to any file type you can imagine..it basically does everything Photoshop does. http://www.gimp.org/ I use it like this: 1) Draw and paint image in Painter (you can also draw in GIMP), keeping elements on separate layers. 2) Export as a .psd fil...

This is a really good idea..I've done it in Cheetah 3d as well and it really does work well with dingbats and weird fonts..
