In 13.5, I don't think bone/action associations are tied to their names. So you should be able to rename the bone in the option bar when the bone selector tool is used and then right-click the smart bone action and select rename there.

Some fill effects only show up in renders or with GPU acceleration enabled in the preferences.
The ctrl-r hotkey is handy for testing those fill effects if you don't want to enable GPU acceleration.

I'm in a similar situation. But I often just select multiple bones at the same time and 0 them out simultaneously.

Particle effects add a lot of overhead for any system. I think Moho treats each individual particle as its own layer, so if your particle count is in the 100s and each particle has some property that adds even more complexity (brushes, transparency, masking), this further compounds the overhead. I'm a youtube hobbyist, so I export at 720p to a png image sequence, then hand off re-assembly to Hitfilm Express to add post-effects, foley, and music. Is there a recommended brush resolution? I know that brush lines can increase render times, but if the brush is kept small then the impact may be reduced (I hope). 64x64 pixels, for example?

Does 'outline on' work when the mouth mask isn't breaking the exterior of the character, though? (At work, so I can't test)
