For those of you who work within a production pipeline: it's possible to just animate as if the table wasn't there and leave the "shape ordering" to the people who do compositing. Sometimes it's faster to just render two or more versions of a scene, like one version with the character, one...

I believe it is missing something(s). Can anybody point out what? Originality? An interesting plot? Sorry, but I'm fed up with this kind of fairy-tale soap opera with guns. There's enough real problems and human conflicts on earth that can be told. I'd like to see some more animation dealing with a...

Then you go dutch.

<SCNR>
You split wisely ... maybe having everything from the shoulders upwards over the table (arms, head).

First: it's all a matter of choosing the right style. Some animation style works pretty well with popping mouth, others don't. Some doesn't need any mouth movement at all. Technically, you need to make the several switch layers "identical" to AS in terms of point order. That is best done w...

And a mic pre-amp does a world of difference. Definitely. Condenser mics are good for very quiet areas, such as a sound booth or something. Dynamic mics are good if you are recording next to your pc because of the fan(s) noise and so forth. Personal preference here: since I record very tiny, silent...

Hey, it's just fair. I have learned a lot from other people when I was a beginner, there were experienced people around whom I could ask. So it's just giving back a bit.

OK, basic audio recording 101: *ggg* The mic input on an average PC soundcard is not a really good piece of hardware. Better is an audio interface which has a) different input jacks for every kind of microphone b) a microphone amplifier c) a good D/A converter, better than most soundcards. This is c...

Did you put the arm (vector) layer into the bones layer? If not: grab the vector layer of the arm, place it over the bone layer so it gets red, then release it. Now flexible binding should be in effect, at least. Did you use any of the binding tools to tell the program which bone should control whic...

Good work! I like the design and the style of movement. Some remarks, if you don't mind: The background is a bit too unspecific. Some texture, and maybe some more details would be especially helpful when you pull out the camera for the final gag. The ant could do with a bit more variety in movement ...

Hm, 10 years ago there was the Hollywood 10 CD library of sound effects available which was not bad. I think I have a cassette copy of that, somewhere ... I'm doing my own films for 30 years now, and although I was always hunting for sounds everywhere, I found that it worked best when I did them mys...

Ah! I'm used to say "scene" when life-action says shot, that was the habit in all the studios I worked with. Now it makes much more sense. Still, I don't see much advantage in putting different shots into one file. The only combination that profits from that is a file with several shots on...

Usually the sequences an animator works with are exactly as long as the scene one's working at. Right now I'm on a project which scenes can be between 30 and 800 frames long, which translates to 1 to 32 seconds of video.
