Just a thought, but has anyone ever tried creating scene separations using layer groups? Granted, it would involve some fairly unusual concepts, such as setting the starting point of every scene in frame zero and changing the group visibility, but I can't see why it couldn't be done.

Being an obsessive control freak myself, I've often found it hard to simply let go and allow others to have creative control over certain elements in projects I'm working on. Every time my desire to control everything would take over, the project in question would usually end up being a flop. The pr...

The idea of allowing existing customers with valid serial numbers to re-download the Moho 5.x software should not be considered unreasonable. Anime Studio introduced a number of new bugs and annoyances into the software that weren't originally present in Moho. Personally, I think E-Frontier should a...

Showreels are a promotion tool, nothing more, nothing less. It's like your business card. In fact, some artists like to include a mini CD with their business card, with sample music. It's like their "showreel". Because first impressions count, it should only contain your best work. This a...

Final Cut works extremely well and can add special effects like various scene transitions. Also worth a look is Apple's Shake program which was recently reduced in price from $2,999 to $499. It has features you can't find in most other consumer-level software and can help touch up any errors in your...

Well, don't let this one experience keep you from trying again with other animation studios. You obviouly have the talent and the desire for creating animation needed to become a powerful asset to any studio willing to take you on as an employee. Perhaps you simply need to try focusing your efforts ...

I personally love Anime Studio/Moho's spline based tools for creating complicated shapes over the tools typically found in Adobe Illustrator or Freehand. While this does sort of expose my inexperience in the field of page layout, it still allows me to work much faster than I ever could in either app.

Just remember that when promoting Manga Studio, you make it clear that it is a page layout app with handy tools for creating manga-style effects, and not an app that dynamically creates manga style characters using presets similar to what Poser does. It's a very easy mistake to make if you haven't s...

The sky is the limit as far as how smooth and detailed you want to get. Just be aware of how long it takes you to draw each frame if you're working on a deadline. As for the point morph oddities, you can see it in the head nod demo I created a while back as well. I've been meaning to redo the demo u...

Amazing... I've only ever seen complexity like that in 3D models, up to now. Are you getting any lag from Moho/AS with this project?

"Switch layers" is basically a method where you simply jump cut over a series of individual images without trying to tweening them using point morphs. For example, lets take a look at the head sequence you created: http://www.bones3d.com/moho/ametsseq.gif If you were to create a series of ...

Hmm... why not just export to an image sequence and use an external editor to perform the interlacing on the sequence? I don't know very many industry workers that use actual movie files from the source program in the final broadcast output.

Not bad... is this entirely created in AS or post-production using photoshop? I'm curious what the complexity level of the character design is. Pretty cool non-the-less and would be great to see animated, assuming it's feasible. :D *update* Never mind, read up after the post was made. How did you ma...
