Re: New improved Head Turn Technique!
Does anyone else have some weird issues if you try and change point curvature when creating the smartbone dials for the headturn? I have to go into the .dup layer to change the point curves manually in these instances, and I'm not sure but it may be responsible for some preview display issues. The ...

Re: ASP 11 is Released!!!
I just now stumbled on the new Split Selected by Layer Comp button in the Batch Render window. This feature is just awesome, AWESOME! Thank you so much for this new feature, dev team! It removes much of the tedium with breaking out layer passes in previous versions. :D G. What. so you mean that you...

Re: Are you using Anime Studio to make games?
There's a thread here from a couple of years ago in the 'Other Software' forum where Selgin posted a mockup test using animations from Anime Studio and importing them into the game engine software Construct 2....

This is great news.
I'm excited to see what changes there have been. Especially how the FBF will work and how it can be mixed with standard AS animation.

Re: Character Rigging with more 3D details etc - Questions.
I learned the hard way. It's difficult. I wish I'd known at the time what neeters_guy above described about ensuring that you move the points vertically when turning the head horizontally. What I found is that in some cases you can do a good enough job of facial features as long as you take into acc...

Re: The return of MotionArtist!
Does anybody know of any project based tutorials for this software. I know that there are a few videos by Smith Micro for MotionArtist but they're nowhere near as well planned as the tutorials for Anime Studio. They tend to jump into showing what you can do, and how cool it is, but they are just lit...

Re: WTH Happened to CTRL-Drag to Zoom?
I always use the right mouse to pan and scroll wheel to zoom. Same here. I didn't even know this was a function so I just tried it and Shift + Right click drag did indeed zoom, Shift + Left click drag panned. Does this work differently for everyone? :? Thanks. Shift+Right click drag works for me on...

Re: A dueyftw's Webinar?
I will post more in a few days. Next will be the different types of binding. Any question, just ask. Remember this is my current work flow, you should do what works for you. Dale Thanks. Binding would be great. That's one issue with Anime Studio that I find extremely confusing as it rarely works th...

Re: Can't get smart bone to manipulate conventional bone.
I managed a workaround where in the smart bone action timeline after having moved the ear bones (which obviously sent the ear vectors off from where I originally had them)I had to move the points of the ears back to approximately where they were before. It feels like quite an awkward and clumsy way ...

Re: Can't get smart bone to manipulate conventional bone.
Thanks for the reply Vern. The thing is that I have done exactly what you did. The ear vector points were released. In the smart action I moved both ear vectors which were on their own layers, and also moved the ear bones. But it doesn't work. By moving the ear bones in the smart action It appears t...

Can't get smart bone to manipulate conventional bone.
Hi, I currently have a dog character of which I've created a head turn, so he can look to the front, or look to the side. I have a couple of bones for each ear which are parented to the head bone and I wish to use dynamics so the ears bounce as the dog walks. So on frame one I have the dog walking a...

Re: Don't understand the styles
Likewise I find that the styles interface is one of, if not the most, confusing aspects of Anime Studio for me too. Very confusing as it hardly does what I intend it to do. I even need a tool tip bar for the tool tip bar, because I don't understand what 'style pusher' means. I try it and nothi...

Thanks to you three for your replies. Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, I didn't know that anybody answered. No, I realised that it was an oversight on my part. The rig works correctly. Re: Disabling Multi-select function in translate points tool
I understand what you mean. I find it very annoying too. :D I thought that by unticking the 'Shape-select' option for the tool would be the solution, but apparently it only works in that you can avoid selecting the shape if you click both inside and outside of it. With it ticked if you click inside ...
