Sorry, didn't mean to imply you shouldn't be shooting scenes in short bursts just you'll need a video editor anyway so might as well use it for audio as well.

I'm still using AS 5.6 PRO. It does most of what you list but the audio is limited. Using an external Video Editor is best, at that version, as also useful for stitching scenes together and adds the audio functions. I used Ulead VideoStudio 11 which is a bit clunky and I am pretty certain there are ...

Some feedback on the background... I really like it.... even the shelves. Not physically correct but it gives extra space for something visual to happen in. It doesn't have too much detail, colouring is good and has 'space' for different things to happen in. Not sure if it is by design but the curve...

For anybody looking to improve the perspective in their backgrounds I'd recommend Vanishing Point: Perspective for Comics from the Ground Up.
It also includes "five-point curvilinear perspective."... which I still can't get my head around.

I'd suggest Gamemaker (although I never quite had the patience for it) or Blitzbasic : Blitzmax (my favourite : Win, Linux and Mac)or Blitz3d (Windows only and good for 2D). Blitzmax is a bit more programmy and, some say, complex and not free ($80) but really powerful. A few omissions (no video supp...

Have a look at some Chris Hart books. He seems to simplify lots of cartoon genres. I also liked this... Heroes-Superheroes-Geeks-Do-gooders I also rip pages out of my kids colouring books and scan them in. AS Vector tools are brilliant for tracing as well so get something 'close' and choose your bes...

Very clever idea. I wonder whether it's simple enough to be added as a function/feature?

Looks good.
If you're after critiques then trunk and ear swing would really add to it.
The mouth on the profile elephant moves in cyclical pattern which is a bit off putting.
and the elephant seems to have a lot of toes.
Might seem picky especially as it's nice movement of the legs but....

Mine were all 0's (zeroes).
Not sure if that means they don't use any letter Os or I was just lucky.
Pure guess is the O would be more circular than the ovular 0.

A switch layer contains sub-layers but only one of those sub-layers is visible at a time so you 'switch' between them. Have a look at the default character for examples. Winsor_45 (AS 5.6) has switch-layers for eyebrows, eyes and mouth. You can interpolate between the sub-layers but can sometimes lo...

Depending on the style you can try a switch layer with the head drawn at different angles.... unless I have misunderstood.
