Re: Character Rig using Images?
The way to work with separate upper and lower limbs is to make sure the bone's joint is centered in the drawing's joint region, and it helps if the joint region is perfectly circular. The way I deal with this is to make a circle layer in Photoshop to help me 'round out' the joint using the circle's ...

Re: Need Moho Animation Course!
I'm currently working on some introductory Moho videos. The first ones are basic UI and workflow walkthroughs, and I'll follow up with demos and technique videos for beginning and advanced skill levels. These videos will be free, and I may set up a Patreon donation account if there's enough interest...

Re: Text to Speech narration of a book
My intentions for this technology tend to be frivolous and not especially sinister.

Re: Character Rig using Images?
Oh, speaking of Chucky's work, check out his Morphibian rig from the Moho 13 content. I was admiring that one the other day and trying to understand how he painted the skin texture. The brush work and colors are quite beautiful. The project has pretty awesome animation too!

Re: Character Rig using Images?
Sure you can. When you bind a PNG image layer, Moho automatically generates a mesh so you can deform it. If you need more control or higher resolution, Moho lets you create your own mesh using SmartWarp. I recommend using Use Selected Bones For Flex-binding. This feature allows you to isolate the Fl...

Good article! The observation of how inconsistencies make a human voices sound natural is very apparent here. I wondered if deep learning was involved, and it's interesting to read how it was used to model the patterns.

Re: Solution for program slow-down when usaing 'Translate Bone'
Probably not related but maybe worth mentioning: If you like pressing and holding keys to temporarily switch tools, that can affect rig performance. For example, if you press and hold T to temporarily switch to the Transform Bone tool, it will slow down a rig using IK and other 'heavy' features. If ...

Re: Solution for program slow-down when usaing 'Translate Bone'
Yes, try the script from the thread above. The problem you're seeing is likely caused by unwanted keyframes existing thousands of frames before frame zero. I think Moho is trying to evaluate the interpolation from those frames to the current frame, which is probably why you see the slow down. There'...

Re: *NEW* Find and delete negative keyframes
I don't see the problem nearly as much as I used to (thank goodness!), but this may be because my usage of Moho at work went down for a year or two. Lately, I'm using Moho more regularly at work and at home again. So far, so good. :) That said, I'm still thankful we have Wes' script. I seem to recal...

Re: When to use which binding
I haven't had a chance to look at your file but, at a glance, I'd use Point Binding for the toes and heel. Bind these directly to the toe and heel bones, and the other bones should have no effect on them.
If I'm able to make time, I'll take a look this evening.

That's amazingly good for a Text-to-Speech program.

By the way - how do I insert an image in this post? when I use the "image" icon and paste the link to an image that is saved on my OneDrive, the preview shows me the word " image" instead of the image itself. Very funny... :? I don't know about OneDrive, but for DropBox I need t...

Re: What is the future of Moho?
I'd never seen Live2D Cubism before, it looks very interesting. If I didn't feel optimistic about Moho's future development, I would definitely be taking a closer look at it. I agree that some of Moho's older content should be purged. It might have been fine many years ago, but nowadays it's not hel...

Re: You can watch Wolfwalkers for free today
Wolfwalkers is amazing! My family has watched it twice now. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. A couple of weeks ago, the directors Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart did a presentation and Q&A session at my work place (via video chat of course.) That was a real treat. They tal...
