Tab selects everything that is connected to your current selection. It works for points and bones and I use it all the time.
By selecting at least one point of one or more shapes, pressing Tab will select all the rest.

Sorry, I haven't had time to read the entire thread yet, but do you know you can select the parent of the selected bone by just pressing the Up arrow on the keyboard? If a Pin bone is child of the bone you want to select and it's set to Ignored by IK, it could work as some kind of shortcut to select...

We have discussed the idea of layer selectors/shortcuts in the past (Wes even created a pretty impressive script some time ago). Maybe these could be shapes that when you click on them, you automatically jump to certain layer. Wouldn't something like that make more sense rather than a pin bone actin...

I can't say we will change this (single key shortcuts are rare because of the way Moho is built), but just to be sure: The shortcuts for Previous and Next keyframe are Option+Z & Option+X (not Option + X/Y). The idea was you could use your left thumb and index/middle fingers to navigate the time...
