You're welcome. I thought it might find some interest here and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned before. However, my one disappointment is that (as far as I can tell) there is no way to interactively navigate the camera through a space. You can rotate objects, but I haven't seen any examples wh...

Interactive 3D web authoring tool.

Called "Axel". http://www.mindavenue.com/en/products/ Looks pretty good. I can't tell how much it costs because when I click on the "Buy" button I get a 404 error (not a good sign). But I looked it up on the web and it seems like it's around $400. I tried out the demo a little an...

And the new GarageBand allows you to make soundtracks for your movies (or was that available in iLife 05?)

Anyway, you can import video and sync up sound tracks to it.

It's a nice idea, but I'm afraid it doesn't give you much control over composition and the way the eye flows through the scene. Having that many buildings also creates a busy background against which your characters will be hard to see. I once was working on an illustration (never finished) with som...

Yeah, I hope the next version will have the ability to set the pivot point for any selection, not just layers.

You should only be squashing and stretching the soft parts of a character. Even if your character is all soft you should only squash and stretch the parts that are supposed to squash and stretch. In Rasheed's example, the arms shouldn't be stretching and the feet shouldn't be sliding apart like that...

Lotte Rheiniger (sp?) animated a feature film, "The Adventures of Prince Ahmed", using cut-outs (like Moho) and she did it with only a small number of assistants. This was the first animated feature. I'm actually thinking about writing a book on digital cut-out animation, which would inclu...

The "cut-out" features are something they are only recently pushing and I think they are probably clumsily implemented precisely because the peg system was meant for doing pans and things. I haven't tried them, though, so I can't say for sure. The reason I said it's not set up for doing in...

Yuri Norstein's "The Overcoat"

For those who haven't seen it, this is master animator Norstein's incomplete magnum opus. Made with layers and layers of cut-out pieces of paper.

Before buying Moho, I tried the demo of Toon Boom Studio. I found it to be counter-intuitive. Within 3 hours of downloading the moho demo, I had already applied a working skeleton to a drawing. After about 5 hours trying to use TBstudio, I was still grappling with it's "peg" system, and t...

is that just to keep it small? or do i miss another big advanteg in vector animation? i think it looks kind of dull and boring most of the time... One advantage to vectors; you can distort shapes without losing quality, as happens when you distort bitmaps. A second advantage; you can zoom in and ou...

Plastic Animation Paper

Has anyone mentioned this program? www.plasticanimationpaper.com It's for drawing traditional animation. Then you have to import the drawings into another program to color them. The low-end version is shareware and the next-highest is 500 Euros. Which is weird, because Moho has a richer feature set ...
