Re: big thanks for the forum upgrade! (and a little wishlis

Just wondering....in the old forum "view posts since last visit" was an invaluable tool for me. Is there an equivalent button on this new look forum? Cheers D.k If you look at the top of the board, you'll see the options. I've got a bookmark on the unread posts option so when I log in, I ...

Re: Failing at School animation project

You kind of need to have the parts separated into their own layers. Its actually easier than you think to animate that way. Take a look at this thread on the bone offset tool I did, it might help. If not, try to upload the anime file you're working on to a file sharing site for us to see and advise ...

Re: big thanks for the forum upgrade! (and a little wishlis

While I like the new look, I think more stringent measures will be needed to cut down the spam. I believe the best course would to be to have the moderators authenticate new members before they're allowed to post. As the moderators are the ones removing the spam, it would be just logical for them to...

offset bone tool

Now that the forum allows embedding videos, I have been going back and posting some that were video responses to questions I've been asked. Here's one I think might be useful.

Re: SPAM

Thanks Mike for upgrading this forum. It was getting really bad. I hope the upgrade will at least cut down on the amount of spam. I think though, that repeat offenders need to be banned as most of the spammers keep returning every few weeks or so. But let's see how it goes. Thx again. :)

Slowtiger's right. Use layer binding to bind the head group and the hair back layer to the same bone. Here's a very simple example of this.

Yes you can in AS. In the style palette, choose fill effect 1 or 2 and choose image texture. You can use an image or a video as long as its a format AS can use. Use the select shape tool and move the handle to scale or move the image or video in the shape.

Most likely from the screen shot you posted, you probably have overlapping points( points on top of other points).

You could probably use the video tracking feature for this too. Page 188 in the manual.

the image is fine. what you're doing is a PREVIEW play not what will be actually rendered. try rendering a short animation you'll see it is transparent

That looks like FLASH, but it can easily be done in AS. Check out this webinar that shows the processes in both. It might answer your questions.

I do, you need to remove the embed script on the main bone layer and child layers. Morph dials don't play well with bones. They will work fine for the eyes like you got them, but they will give you trouble for boned rigs.
