Let's examine the box text:" complete 2D solution for creating movies, cartoons, anime or cut-out animation!" Can you create a movie with the software? Keep in mind, "movie" does not mean "seventy-minutes or more in length." A movie can be 10 seconds long. Or five minut...

If the packaging of the hammer read: hammer will teach you how to build a house - yes then I would expect it. Well, there's the problem. You jump to conclusions. If the packaging of a hammer said, "Hammer will teach you to build a house," that does not mean it will teach you how to do the...

Thanks for this tip, selgin! Your tip about how to quickly hide the style window and expand the layers window simultaneously is awesome.

Hmm...can't think of any. If you look at Selgin's latest work in the SHARE YOUR WORK section, he did those animations @ 15fps. Maybe that's why you're asking he he. Yes, you guessed it: Selgin's animation in SHARE YOUR WORK inspired me to consider 15 fps. :D I hadn't thought of the effect 15 fps wo...

Animating at 15 fps

Are there any downsides to animating at 15 fps? On my display, when using Anime Studio Pro, when animating at 24 fps, I can view 7 seconds on the timeline at a time. However, at 15 fps I can see a staggering 12 seconds at a time. In terms of workflow, that seems like a big plus in favor of 15 fps. A...

I think it's best to provide your distributor with both a 16:9 and a 4:3 (adjusted) version so he can deliver for every demand. That's what I'll do. (Sigh.) It seems the pragmatic choice. Thanks everybody for chiming in. I was listening to the commentary track for Ghostbusters this morning, and in ...

Thanks for all the replies.

Another problem I have with 16:9 is that I'm troubled by the "safe" area. It throws off my sense of composition keeping the important stuff centrally located.

Do any of you guys work in 16:9 without any concern for the central 4:3 zone?

16:9 versus 4:3

I've somewhat tired of the 16:9 ratio. My current cartoon project is being done in 16:9 and the horizontal space is so very looong, the characters often seem lost in the vast expanse of scenery. I'm tinkering on a new cartoon project in my spare time and I'm contemplating doing it in 4:3 . W...

Awesome. May I guess at the premise? Guy sees a wall and wants to get over it? I like the simple stories. My guess: The cartoon guy believes that paradise lies on the other side of the wall. Unable to kick over the wall, the guy retrieves a stick of TNT to blow a hole in the wall. He lights the fuse...

Too late to help you with your file, but here's what I do: I always keep stuff pretty much in its original shape and size in frame #0. All that shearing and transforming I do in #1. This way I always have a frame position I can return to when I fucked up everything, and copy my default from there. ...

You have can prepare the outdoor scene and the indoor scene side by side in the workspace window, and then instantly pan the camera from one "scene" to the next when time for it.
