Re: Limitation to Nested Layer Control
I did some experiments and discovered I had a flawed process for experimentation. I was testing bone action on frame 0. Everything works, until you make the sub-bone layer a switch layer or bind the sub-bone layer to some other bone. Then it doesn't work. However ... if you move to frame 1 or beyond...

Re: Limitation to Nested Layer Control
I tried that. Also tried to link as an angle control bone. Couldn't get it to work, but there might be some trick.

Limitation to Nested Layer Control
CORRECTION: If you are using SB to animate vector layers in a subgroup, you can see it work while in frame 0, unless the subgroup is bound, then you need to move to frame 1+ to see it work.

Re: working with external styles
Good idea, although I don't equate that to the Library. To me, the Library is the thing that opens when you select the Window \ Library command. I still find it easier to use a native file explorer.Lukas wrote:If you use embedded scripts, I recommend always putting them in the Shared Resources

Re: working with external styles
In the meantime, Vern might save us. It looks very promising. I agree, and greatly appreciate the scripts from Vern and others. Recently, my favorite scripts have been about leaving the confines of the .anme file, e.g. saving bone animations, saving .dat files etc. To do so with Styles would be fan...

Re: working with external styles
I just reviewed the videos for 9.5. There are some changes to styles, but nothing like this. In fact, the most telling thing I heard about styles was: "We may, in the future, need to make some improvements to the overall style window." (I'm paraphrasing from memory.) As for the library, I ...

Re: working with external styles
It would be awesome to be able to merge styles as well. I do this too often using a text editor to search and replace in the. anme file.

Re: Help Shape the Future of Anime Studio
1 Give smart bones the ability to control layers within sub bone layers.
2 Rework the Styles interface.
3 Rework the actions interface.
4 Give us the ability to save and load key files for bone animation, layer animation, camera animation etc. (See Mike Kelley scripts for examples.)
Thanks,

Re: CONTROL BONES FROM PARENT LAYER (FINISHED)
Thanks for the explanation. I sort of had the sense that ASP used relative vs. actual bone angles. It's unfortunate that bones are unable to control layers that are in sub-groups, or I could just put all my bones in the master layer and not need a workaround. Thanks for all your work.

Re: A BONE CONTROL SCRIPT (FINISHED)
I'm also running into angle problems. I don't have any of the master or slave bones parented, but on my slave layer a bone that goes up has a rotation of 0 and on the master layer, a bone that goes up has a rotation of 180. Is there a way to change that?

Re: A BONE CONTROL SCRIPT (FINISHED)
Once you name the master and slave bones the same, it seems you can no longer directly manipulate the slave bone. So, for example, if I am creating a slave smartbone, I need to rename the master bone temporarily so I can move the slave bone while setting the smartbone points. Is everyone else experi...

Re: Smart Bone Helpers by Ramón López
Interesting behavior: When I enter a SmartBone action through the helper button, I do not have the ability to scale bones. When I enter the same action through the Action window, scale bones is now available to me.

Re: Control all switch layers and bones from parent bone lay
I just tried the script I mentioned and couldn't get it to work with smartbones. Which leaves me with a puzzle. Right now, if I move a bone in the master bone layer, I can't use smartbones to change anything within a lower bones or group layer. For example I have a head bone on the master bone layer...
