Trouble with Import Image Sequence

This script is a big part of my workflow, but all of a sudden I'm having trouble. First It started giving me this error: "attempt to concatenate a nil value" I determined that was because my .PNG files had a space in the name, although that never used to be a problem. Now even without spac...

Re: Smart Bone Helpers by Ramón López

I love Smart Bone Helpers. Thanks. About _tool_list.txt. In 9.0, I edited the one in the custom content folder and it worked. When I switched to 9.1, it stopped working and I had to edit the one in Program Files. Does anyone know the theory on this scheme? We have two files with the same name in two...

Re: Smart bones changes everything! Some examples

After playing with Control Lever bones, here are the rules I use: To use Control Lever bones for anything in the Head (eyes, pupils, etc.) the Head layer needs to be a bone layer and the Control Lever bones need to be in the Head layer. I create the actions for those bones in either the Head Layer o...

Are any points bound to the Control Bones? They don't need to be. I've had good luck with just one frame actions for pupil movement.

Re: Smart bones changes everything! Some examples

I separate layers mostly to animate the layer order and make masks. Excellent point. So if I have a character in 3/4 view, the near arm is in front of the torso. Currently, if I want that hand behind his back, I change the layer order for the lower arm. But if the upper and lower arm are one piece,...

Re: Smart bones changes everything! Some examples

I woke up thinking about how Smart Bones changes layer strategies. I am already accustomed to point binding, and rarely use layer binding. With Smart Bones, I see no reason for upper and lower arm and leg bones. Now I'm wondering, for human characters why not put the entire body in one layer -- tors...

Re: Anime Studio 9 Available Now!

Why dont you try typing your serial again. Sometimes it's really easy to make typos or mix up a "zero" with the letter "O" I actually cut and pasted my serial number directly from my Smithmicro order email (from last fall). Just tried entering the number by hand (with and withou...

Re: ASP 9 announced

Every time someone posts to this thread, I foolishly get excited that the release date has arrived. ...oh oops - just did it again! :P btw, you dont need to wait to start really, with the basic character drawing and rigging - you can just add the smart bone actions later... You're right. I have abo...

Re: ASP 9 announced

I really hope they don't change to bezier curves Agreed. I also like the current system. My two biggest problems with 9 are: 1) I too am now waiting for smart bones before I move ahead on a massive project. And 2) Every time someone posts to this thread, I foolishly get excited that the release dat...

Re: Import Image Sequence

Slowtiger, thanks for responding. You pointed me in the right direction, thinking that it was the file names. I eliminated everything but the actual frame numbers and it imported fine. Maybe it was the length of the file name that was the problem. This feature is the last technical hurtle in what I ...

Import Image Sequence

I'm trying to use Scripts / Import Image Sequence. Every time I try, the LUA Console pops up with: ... js_image_sequence.lua:188: attempt to concatenate a nil value The images are all PNG files that end in nnnn.png (where nnnn is the sequence of numbers.) I've tried it with files that have no spaces...

Funksmaname: Thanks for this and all your youtube tutorials. I'm trying to sort out my rigging, and am just starting to investigate patches. I'm using a 3/4 view and need the far forearm to pass both in front and behind the body. (For that matter, I might need the near forearm behind the body.) I ga...
