Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

Here is what I created, it works but not producing the actual physics that I wanted: Okay, I see. That's cool. What I propose is that you create another dial like that with slosh effects in a Switch layer, and use a dynamic bone like I set up as an angle control bone for your dial. I was playing ar...

Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

Here is what I created, but I'm just using smart bone dials and adjusting the points on a timeline to make it work. Could you post an animation of it? I was thinking of linking that to a bone with Independent Angle, like Synthsin75 suggested. I am using version 9 of A.S., so I don't have that optio...

Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

My thought was to try to attach a bone with physics applied. They bone would be bound to some points on the top of the shape (red box). Did you take a look at what I did, in the file posted earlier? Unless the movement is really violent, the wine should remain flat on top, so you really don't need ...

Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

I was pretty happy with the wine in the sloshing in the glass, so I decided to move on to her drinking it. I went with a switch layer with interpolation turned on. I made several switch layers progressing until the wine had emptied out of the glass. This was fairly successful, except it killed my pr...

Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

For the liquid I used lots of little circles with physics applied then I used layer blur with threshold applied , then coloured the whole layer. That's it . Thanks. That's sort of what I figured you did. I tried that though, and all my circles either bounced out of the glass or continued spinning a...

Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

I am still using version 9, so I don't have the Independent Angle feature. I feel like there used to be a work around for this, but I can't remember what it was. Anyway, I came up with a solution using bones, and smart bone actions that I'm fairly happy with. I bound the top points of the wine surfa...

Re: Making wine stay level in glass automatically

Assuming you are masking the wine to the glass, a bone with independent angle can keep it level. And a dynamic bone used as a smart bone should be able to handle the sloshing. Thanks! I'm not using masking, but from what I remember, I think I could still do something like that. https://www.youtube....

Looks neat, but how did you do it?

I think I'll investigate the bones method.

Thanks!

Making wine stay level in glass automatically

Is there a way to use physics to make wine stay level in a glass? and slosh around procedurally?

Thanks,

Re: Test animation

I don't really know what to do with her dress texture. It's not working right. That's the reason why we usually avoid patterns like this in 2D animation. Your choices are: - work in 3D - delete the pattern - change it into a texture with less contrast and direction - go for a stylized approach, don...

Re: Hair in front of and behind body?

Textures only follow bone strength. Oh, good to know!~ I turned off bone strength entirely. I made that texture with some lines in another layer, then I rendered it and applied it as a texture. Should I go back to the lines w/ masking? I was afraid the masking would get confusing and difficult. Tha...

Test animation

I did some more work on this today. I checked all the point bindings and redid most of the smart bone actions. Except for a few things I can't figure out still, it's looking a lot better. Here's a test animation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJbtCpBu6aU Please let me know what you think. Any sugg...

Re: Hair in front of and behind body?

Quick tips for smart bone actions: 4. Points controlled by two different smart bones will have their motions added together, usually ending up with distorted and undesired results. This may be my problem. Maybe I'm trying to set up too many? Okay, the thigh bone can rotate both directions, but the ...

Re: Hair in front of and behind body?

Not with images alone. If you can't (or don't want to) share the file publicly, you might PM someone you trust to take a look. Thanks! I don't want this out in the public domain, but I could share it with experts here. Maybe I can just share the part I'm having trouble with. The problem is, the sma...
