Re: How to simulate classic hand drawn animation style

"classic hand drawn animation style" is not a thing which could be done with the press of a button. As the suggested solutions show, the "style" consists of several elements on different levels. - Design: your character must look hand-drawn. (Family Guy doesn't.) - Drawing style: cel look, or someth...

Re: 3D Plane Butterfly Wings

Well of course they change angle and look weird, because camera makes them do so ... optically it's totally correct. I think I've done exactly that, quite some time ago. To get rid of the weird looks I'd animate a butterfly loop in place, reder that, and re-import the video/image sequence, which now...

Re: Animating Clothes (not sheets)

That's what I think as well. In fact this is one of the complex motions most animators will avoid, and directors choose a different solution, like doing it off-screen: character puts hands to T-shirt, cut to other person, cut back to character with T-shirt in hands.

Re: Dealing with different frame rates?

Video editors have the ability to time-stretch material to any frame rate. Different FPS material will be corrected to run at correct speed automatically. In Moho you can set the frame rate of imported footage to any value. Usually this is done to match the project FPS, I haven't used it for the pur...

Re: connecting and disconnecting bone plus bind layer

The fastest and easiest solution is: have all placards in a switch layer, duplicate this 2 times. One goes bound to the holding hand, one goes bound to the throwing hand, one is for the placards lying on the ground. The one at the throwing hand needs to switch visibility.

Re: Nebula

Ah, that's what I'd call a galaxy. Uhm, if you use brushes you're already using bitmaps. And since they're quite small (up to 512x512px) you shouldn't print them larger than 2 inches. Your example made me think. These irregular borders ... what about vectorising some splattery immage, and use this a...

Re: Nebula

(Well, if this isn't the job for a bitmap program?)

Which kind of nebula do you think of, which amount of detail? For total realism I'd use a NASA photo, they're all free to use.

Does it need to change/evolve? How about stars? I could think of solutions with two or three self-made brushes.

Great work! I only find his stare a bit unnerving. Let him look somewhere else for moments, and he could do with a tad bit more blinks.

Re: Slow physics

For the bones stuff, the bones animation will need to be baked and then bone dynamics switched off. Whoah. I've got a character rig with 9 bones all doing physics, multiplied by 6; that's 54 bones - do I have to select each and every single bone after baking and switch physics off? Wouldn't it be p...

It was, in fact, bone physics. (Result here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=32856)
