BBC animation about Charles Dickens

Charles Dicken's life in a perfect cutout style - could have been done in Moho ... I never ever thought of Flash being able to look so nicely victorian.

Short answer: you can't extract a voice track from a complete recording with music and stuff, not even with the kind of gadgets they seem too use in CSI and NCIS. Workaround: Just sing the track yourself. Put the original on headphones with low volume, record your own voice only. It doesn't matter i...

You can't compare Mirage and Moho feature-wise. I use both, and decide which of them by the nature of the current job to be done. They complement each other which is a Good Thing. To decide between both of them is only important to artists who want to use (or can afford) only one program, this of co...

This comparison chart is an interesting reading. Basically it says "if you don't buy the pro version, you can't work like a pro". Most important things the Non-Pro-version doesn't cover: - no bigger renderings than 768x768px (good enough for TV, though) - no scenes longer than 3000 frames (that's st...

Yes, Vern is right about the sheer file size as a quality indicator. As a rule of thumb, an uncompressed TIFF of about 15 MB is good enough to print on A 4, 30 MB equals A 3 (european formats). The best way to see the real file size is to open the image in Photoshop, where the opened size is shown o...

Toon Boom is more widely used for Animation than any other software in the market, practically all major Hollywood studios use it (that is a known fact)

Now where can I find a Mac programmer, beat him down, drag him to my place and make him do what's necessary ...

See? Macs make you a criminal! *fg*

Thank you, Myles, I'll give you a report as soon as I'm able to make this thing run.

I don't really feel a need for more "natural" brushes in Moho because if I want that, I'd go for a pixel based program first (like Mirage). However, the brush handling could be improved with some additional features which, I believe, are not that hard to implement. Maybe they should be put behind a ...

Vern, I'm working with Macs since 1993, starting with Photoshop and FreeHand - never really learned Illustrator, so it's like a bit of Oxford versus Cambridge here ... and there's no apologies needed. *g* Over the years I had to work with a bunch of software, good one, bad one, and the kind which le...

Maybe I should have put it more clearly: An essential function like adding points to an existing shape belongs into the main tools, not into some script section which should be reserved for more complex and seldom-used operations. What's wrong with wanting to have an application which is really good...

I will not use a script to do simple stuff like adding points which should be possible to do with the tip of a pen, since this is standard behaviour of all vector programs I know. There's a reason why FreeHand and Illustrator survived a decade: they were designed in a user-friendly way - not everywh...

Of course there's need for an additional illustration program, at least as long as Moho doesn't support Bezier curves with their comfortable handles. I spent hours yesterday to just create some smooth, straight lines in Moho. Among the things I badly missed that moment were: - a line drawing tool fo...

"more content" could be fine, if it means that all tutorials get to be redone and extended and spiced up with some more intuitive examples. And having pre-rigged examples in a software package is an important point if you want to sell big. I've dug up an idea about preventing Moho from being recogni...

Papagayo 1.2 will not play on Mac OS 10.4.7 because of Python. I've tried and tested different Python updates, but with no success.

Since I need the german breakdown which I nbelieve is included in 1.2, I'm stranded now.
